Default F Pay Pal!!!

I am so tired of corporate greed and people trying to take my money. I have been a ebay/paypal user for over 10 years. I have a current feedback score of 102 with 100% feedback. 2 months ago I sold an item on ebay and the funds were held for over a week and they said it was because I didnt use PayPal to print the shipping label. I explained I have my own UPS account and the do not wish to use paypal it ist more and more fees. Several more transactions and now they are holding funds again. I clicked on the reasons why in my account summary and it says this:

Why aren’t my funds available as soon as my buyers pay?

Here are the most common reasons why:
  • You have a Below Standard seller rating on eBay
  • You have a limited selling history on eBay, which means that any of the following are true:
    1. It’s been 90 days or less since your first successful sale on eBay, or
    2. You’ve made 25 or fewer sales transactions on eBay, or
    3. You’ve sold $250 or less on eBay
  • We believe there may be a high level of risk associated with your account or your transactions. This can include risk that your account will have a higher number of eBay Buyer Protection cases, PayPal disputes, PayPal claims, buyer chargebacks or other reversals.

I ask, since I have never had a dispute, never not shipped an item or any other issues then why in the hell are the holding my funds for even a day. They now say its an Ebay issue and to talk to them. I firmly believ the powers that be @ these two organizations figured, hell if we can hold money that was never ours for up to 21 days, imagine all the interest we can collect after each year. I emailed Ebay last week with zero reply. I am going to stop using paypal to sell anything.

I just told Paypal that I was not happy too. If you have money in your account and want to buy something they wont let you use your credit card. So I had to send an echeck which took 5 days to clear and the first three times I sent it it didnt go even though they acknowledged the purchase when I bought the item

With all the scams and fraud out there, it's kind of hard to fault a company for protecting their customers and themselves.

Understanding you have never had a dispute or anything, but you're probably too small for them to take the risk. They do what, $11b in revenues a year? The rules they apply to you, they'd have to apply to everyone, which would certainly increase their risk.

I do agree that it's BS that they make interest on amounts held in escrow (read it in their 10k recently), but it's part of doing business with them. They provide a pretty good service to their customers and you gotta pay for that. Otherwise, just use craigslist. It's free, there's no protection, and you get inundated by scammers.

Using Paypal is like giving the schoolyard bully your lunch money in the morning, and hoping he gives it back at recess.

Paypal isn't bad if used a certain way. I use paypal for 99% of my sales. They charge me 3% of every transaction. I figure it's a small price to pay for the convenience. Making funds transfers are easy from my paypal account to my business checking account. No fee for the transfer. I don't take credit cards so paypal works well for me. And I think the 3% is reasonable, I think the cc companies would charge the same or more.

I also had a couple of disputes. On two separate occasions someone placed an order using paypal funded with a stolen credit card. The real owner of the credit card files a dispute with their cc company. that cc company then files with paypal. Paypal then pull those funds from my account and investigates.

Both cases ended up going in my favor. Because the order was shipped to a "confirmed"" address they found in my favor. I'm sure the cc company got the shaft on those.

Check out https://squareup.com/ I use them for my charter customers that want to pay with a CC. They send you a free card reader for your smart phone and you download an app. Every transaction is done through the phone. I have only used it 4 or 5 times in the last few months. But I am happy with the transactions that I have made and they deposit in my acct within a few days.

I never liked Paypal so I tried not to ever use it.

ebay isnt what it was, theres to many businesses that sell junk cluttering up the pages. Back when I still did the ebay thing it was mostly average people selling stuff to other people.

Don't forget he takes a percentage for himself before he does give it back.

E-bay and Paypal are getting ridiculous indeed. I am virtually stopped selling on e-bay, for this reason alone. That and the fact that you cannot really say much bad anymore when people screw you on a sale. You can as a *buyer* but not as a seller.

Poof. I'm Done.
