I am launching my boat Wednesday at 10 AM after I tank up at the Citgo on the way in to the slip. Cheapest 91 gallons I'll see all summer!

New Lenco trim tabs on, a remote mic for my VHF radio with a display in it so I don't have to get on hands/knees to read, new high power wiring for spreader lights and 12V accessory so my HDS and radar don't crash when I turn on the spreader lights, a second bilge pump, a second depthfinder on N2K, a 19" pitch new propeller (vs old 17"), all my gelcoat scars from last season lookin' beautimous, waxed top and bottom, new bottom paint, new ETEC oil injector and lower unit lube....I'm ready!!!!!

You can come over and help me with bottom paint and a buff and wax. That should help pass the time.

I'm more inland so I would not have to worry about getting out, we have a beautiful water community here I love it. But I do get your point...

And I am going to need to get "new" gear. I have nothing for salt water or bigger fish... most of my gear is all for lake fish. I have been keeping my eye on craigslist for stuff to buy but nothing interesting is comming up. I have 2 estate sales comming up that listed offshore fishing equipment so i am going to check those out.

Just go pick out something expensive in your house,....break it and pay a premium to have it repaired. It will give you the warm fuzzy framing of owning the boat soon enough

Waiting for a boat already purchased is the hardest part. When I bought my boat I handed the broker a deposit after only seeing pictures on the internet. The following weekend I went to Key West to see the boat and sea trial. I signed the purchase agreement and drove back to Ft Lauderdale (spent one night in KW to celebrate with drinks)

Got back home and wired the balance. The transporter went down to KW two days later to bring her home. That two days was the longest two days I have ever experienced.

The entire process from finding the boat on Yacht World to having it delivered took about 7 days. It was rough!!!

It means a bit more too I guess... it is my fathers boat. It's not new or anything like that just an early 80's moedel Sea Ray but it will have been my fathers and for me that is just as cool as getting a new one I think.
