Default New SHTF Toy

Even though I have several shotguns I didn't have a good high capacity one for a SHTF scenario. Looked at the Remington 870 as well as a few others. Went to pick up an 870 and it had been sold. Went to another gun shop and they had the Mossy 590 which is apparently what at least part of our military is using now. It holds 9 rounds and 4 extras in the "Speed Stock". There is actually a bayonet lug on it. Not that I am going to try and find a bayonet, just thought it was cool.

Nice. Adding a light ? Possibly a side saddle for increased zombie capability ?

I am going for an 870 with all the bells & whistles

Nope, no add ons. Can't add a side saddle with the "speed stock".

buddy of mine has the new 870 with a surefire replacement fore grip on it. The new one holds the X series lights and has some kind of hand control on the grip to turn the light on and off. Pretty sure it cost a whole bunch but he works at the local gun shop

Amazon Amazon

Can't see how the speed stock wouldn't work with this?

If you can't get what you're after with 13 shots from a SHOTGUN, a bayonet is useless! You'll probably have blown half the house to the ground with the first 13.

After 13, just THROW the GUN at them!

I've got an 870 Express, 12ga., 20"bbl., no "rib", I think it holds 5+1?

Regards,

Yep. I was picturing the one that wraps around the stock. That one would work. Damn, 19 rounds.

Took your advice and got the side saddle. 9 in the tube, 4 in the stock, 6 in the side saddle = 152 .32 caliber pellets downrange.

With all that ammo so close by, that thing will do more damage than a WRECKING BALL!

Very cool!
