Default English lesson: (You) are vs (your)

I guess this is a boating forum not an english class but I am amazed how many people don't know the difference between (you are) and (your). (You are) is a pronoun and a verb used in a sentence like (you are smart, dumb or sexy) or (you are going to have to fix this).

(Your) is a possessive pronoun used in a sentence like ( it is your choice, your boat, your wife, your girlfriend, or your boat).

Every day I read a post saying (your) going to have to do this or that and it just reflects badly on the poster.

Sorry, I really do have better things to do but this just drives me crazy in a world where McDonald's can not make change without a cash register telling clerks how much change to return.

This is exactly why we should have a separate "English and Grammer" forum on this site.

I think your over reacting whats you are problem?

I had a latino woman in walgriins had me wait for the register to do the math for change from 2.00 on a charge of 1.49. I had to hold my breath to keep from explaining elementary level math. I wasn't too worried about the penny but at close range the quarters could do damage.

Excellent job now please explain the difference between; there, their, they're (what has been seen cannot be unseened you'll notice it everywhere now)

I come to forums for help. A lot of the times, quick help. Sometimes I will miss the difference between "your" and "you're."

No big deal.

Some people don't understand what commas are for either apparently..
