Default Managing Email

I didn't want to intrude on the other email discussion but would like advice on managing emails on multiple devices. I get the same email on my I Phone, I Pad, and 2-laptops. Is there a way to delete an email from all the devices at one time instead of having to delete them individually from each?
Thanks!

I am sure that there must be a "synch" feature.

I have my blackberry set up that if I read an e-mail on it, I can delete on all devices or just leave the e-mail, but it will not show up on the desktop as unread. However, it does not work the other way. If I read the e-mail onthe desktop, I still need to read or delete on the BB.

I am sure that if you have any kids, 10 y/o or so, they can provide an assist for you.

Yes and its easy if your using Mac Mail on one of your laptops. Open up your mail and go to Mail Preferences, Accounts.......If you hit the "Remove" button from one of your accounts it will delete the mail from your mail server, you can also check the box to remove after downloading to that device.

There is usually a setting in your mail setups that say "leave mail on server" or "delete mail from server when deleted from device"....or words to that effect.

The trouble with doing that, is the mail will only be available to the first reader. I struggle with this between a PC, a laptop and a Droid2. I'm never satisfied with what I wind up with.

If you mail is on an Exchange server, whatever you do to one mail client happens at the server and is reflected on all clients.

Most mail accounts are so-called POP3 mail accounts. These seem to offer fewer options for coordination across various access means than IMAP mail accounts. Not sure I know the differences.

You need to setup your email clients with the IMAP option. Anything you do to one will be on the other.

Another vote for IMAP accounts. I think most email services have a setting to switch from POP3 to IMAP. There will be plenty of info for your email provider online if you google it.

Anyone have IMAP with verizon.net? I only seem to be able to scare up IMAP with gmail and yahoo mail.

A quick google search showed tons of Verizon.net customers complaining that Verizon doesn't offer IMAP. Sounds like you're out of luck there. Sorry.
