Default It's about time, need more of this

I don't need or want to see some punks wallet behind (pun intended) his knee or calf and his technicolor underwear on display.

He probably wonders why he can't get a job. I'm being a little naive, I doubt he's ever applied for a job.

Well done Judge!

BTW, ya gotta love the comments.

Precedence has already been set here in Florida, it's an unconstitutional law.

As stupid as I think they look I don't see why it's illegal. I think skinny jeans look just as ridiculous but no one wants the emo kids jailed.

Are you talking about "on the streets" or in a Court of Law? Seems to me that a Judge has the authority to enforce a dress code.

Just ask my cousin Vinny, he also had a similar problem in Alabama.

that was a movie.

But there was a judge here in CT when I started practicing and we had motions on Mondays, very crowded not like a trial where you set up yourself for the day and get comfortable. In the winter or when it was raining, if you did not take your overcoat off, this judge would ignore you when you spoke and even pass your case and move to the next one.

He was a good judge, though.

So, the moral is that the judge rules his courtroom and can find anyone within his chambers in contempt of court. Of course if a judge starts to do this alot for odd reasons, he may have issues with the bar.

Unfortunately, I've spent a few times standing on those huge steps of the New Haven Court House, sometimes in the wind, cold, snow or rain (my step father was an attorney). New Haven has some of the most beautiful architecture there is.

Even Bridgeport was a grand city at one time. My father went to Arnold College way back when, before it became the University of Bridgeport.

That was hilarious, but it's TRUE! I had a guy come by my office last week "Yo, ya'll be hirin?" Uh, no. Plus he was wearing a hoodie w/ his pants on his knees.
Judge has all the right to enforce a dress code IMO. I had to go see one not too long ago, expired license, and before he came in, they told us to make sure you presented yourself a certain way. Basically respect the courtroom.

How do they keep them from falling the rest of the way down?

If you are walking and your pants are at your thighs and you are moving it seems to me that they would just drop.

C'mon now, you could tap him on the shoulder, and when he turns around and sees your "I am Zimmerman" t-shirt he'll crap his pants (or rather his undies).

If you can, be sure sure to get that on video.

While on jury duty, I saw a judge throw three different people out of his court room on contempt charges for chewing gum. No kidding. No eating or drinking in the courtroom and this guy took it waaaaaaay serious.

You slacker... leaning on a wall!

proper decorum.

usually the judge's deputy will make an announcement before the judge takes the bench and will list the obvious no no's.

Glad the judge did what they did. I hate when people do that. And 9 times out of 10 they are also wearing a belt. Like WTF for? They must think they look cool. I know if my pants start to fall down a little, its uncomfortable as hell. What a loser.
