Default NJ - FL Roadtrip

I'm graduating college in under a month and as a partial grad gift, my parents are loaning me the credit card and sending me off on southern road trip, something I've wanted to do since high school. I have friends and family in VA, NC, GA, annd FL and will be spending some time in all of those states. Trip will either be in late May or early June. Looking for cool places to stop and good spots to fish/charter a boat. Any suggestions?

VA beach is nice. Outer Banks in NC are unique. Charleston area in SC. Riverstreet in Savannah GA is cool. Florida has a lot to choose from. Cocoa Beach and the port are nice. Singer Island is awesome and the water is unbelievable. And the keys are a great trip so save some time for them. I don't spend much time on the west coast of Florida so someone else can speak better on those destinations.

Lucky bastard.......
Stay off I95 and come down via the coast. Cross the Chesapeake bay/bridge tunnel, make your way down the outerbanks to ocracoke and ferry back to the mainland. Sure it's slower, but the areas will be fascinating.
