Default 40 hp evenrude

I have an evenrude motor & can not find the year of manufacture

Mod. E40TEESR

Ser. # 02504888

I was told that it was a 1990, But I can 't find anything to verfy that ?? the serial # does not have any letters following it & it does match anything on the pre 80s list I have looked at ??

The cover says 40 hp evenrude vro ,it is manual tilt, tiller steer, mounted on a cmc power tilt / trim and seems to run fine so far but I would like some information about it just to know.

can someone help identify exactly what I have ??

I'm not sure I did this correct, but I think it's a 1990.

I N T R O D U C E S

The second to last two of your serial number are ES hence your model year is 1990. Page four the manual shows its.
