Default The Economy And The Earths Natural Resources

This is an interesting article that gave me a new perspective on how economic growth and the earths natural resources are interconnected. We have reached a point where where population growth and natural resources are at an equilibrium. At this point the growth of either cannot go without undermining the other. So like it or not the economy will remain at a standstill until we make the switch to energy from renewable resources. The industrial revolution has officially come to an end.

Pretty good article - I'm going to share it with my Environmental Science class. In our class, we have looked at similar "tipping points" that have occured in the past, and each time there has been a technological innovation that has reset the bar and allowed continued economic and population growth (things like chemical fertilizers and antiseptic medicine). Who knows what the next "game changer" might be? Room temperature superconductors? Practical nuclear fusion? I keep a lot of faith in science in technology to bail us out.
