Damn! That truly sucks. Of all the fishing shows, Spanish Fly was my favorite and it was mainly due to the genuine spirit of fishing and commoradary that Jose seemed to exhibit.
RIP Jose

One of the few "celebrity" fishermen I would have wanted to fish with. Sorry to here it. Prayers to his family.

Holy shit! I am speechless. He was by far my favorite on camera angler. It seems like he always wanted to teach his audiance something new. I've been watching the Spanish Fly for more years than I can remember. Sad day...

Prayers for his family. His show was my favorite for the reasons already mentioned on here which I couldn't have said better.

That plane was bad ass and the weather was good. He was dead before he hit the ground is my guess-some kind of medical event. No way it was pilot error having known him as a fellow pilot. Thankfully , he was the only fatal but still this stings BIG. So friggin upset...

I'd like not to think this is true.

A true loss to every sportsman be it water or ground. That man had a passion for what he did and it included his life away from a camera.

Prayers sent to friends and family. This is a tragic loss.
I've watched and enjoyed his show for a long time. I think it was 5 years before I even knew how to pronounce his name. He had a real passion for it. He loved the flats as much as the deep water. I think he love the sharing and teaching part most, he loved it all.

RIP
