Default New SRT Viper First Images!

I really like it. I only wish it had an option for a sequential gearbox. I would like to see if this car is better than the last Viper ACR around a road course. That would be impressive!

Way to many light catchers especially in the first image. The highlights in the 2nd view are all over the place. Hard to believe they would have let the light bounce from panel to panel fore/aft on the belt line.

The interior is not your typical Dodge either. More of what you would expect from a specialty vehicle such as this.

Also bear in mind what you are looking at is a rendering probably done in a software called bunkspeed.

The Background used is a typical template and dead give away to the studio eye.

Dead on side view the body does look pretty sexy. That first image has some real issues with the highlight bouncing all over very distracting.

My personal opinion though.

You and I like two different things about cars but its one fine looking ride.
Dodge with that motor could hang with the new 800+ hp mustang if they wanted to.

Would not pay what their asking for it but I'd sure drive one if it were given to me. .

Why do people equate sports cars with drag racing? This car is built for a road course. The Viper unlike the mustang can go around turns and should be used to do so. Drag racing is for people who think they know how to drive and road racing is for those who know how to drive. It's really really easy to make a car go fast in a straight line. Waiting on the Ring numbers!

It's no longer a Dodge. SRT was spun off as it's own manufacturer.

You assumed I was thinking about drag racing .
Its a street car. I'm not a drag racer on the street. LOL
I like power, comfort and style. On the east coast, thats not Drag racing and we usually ask if we don't understand. The Viper what ever you rank it under its still,, a street car. Just because we have 7 second toys don't mean we exercise everything to that limit. We know you go round and round and respect that. Its what you enjoy.

Glad they kept the origional look except for the front. That first pic screams pontiac Trans-am from a decade ago. Hope they clean it up a little before it hits the street.

Hmmm, the interior still looks elcheapoplastyDodge to me. Maybe it's not, but the pics still scream "hey, I'm a Dodge interior!".

Would enjoy the drive, though.

I drag raced a couple times......started road racing in my SRT8 Charger last year.

OMG!!! It's SO much more fun and challenging. A guy I know (not real well) has an ACR Viper and is planning to start coming to VIR (3.27 mile road course) next time we go.

Do you belong to Chin or NASA? I run with Chin and am looking at going to VIR this year. My home track is Sebring.

It may be a street car but it's tweaked on the Ring for a reason. The ACR wasn't really a street car except it had a full interior. More race car than street car.

I like it. A lot of cues from the gen. 2 GTS aft of the front wheels.

NASA mid-atlantic. Couple buddies run CMC and I started going last summer doing HPDE's. 2 weeks ago at VIR I was told I was running the car as fast as THAT car could be run around the track and that I was ready for HPDE3 (solo). Next trip to VIR isn't til July but I plan on being there. (there are 2 events at Summit Point between now and then, will make at least one of them). By this time next year I hope to have my Comp license and a CMC car as well.

BTW: VIR is an AWESOME course, 3rd highest elevation change in the country, long straights, technical turns.....and the facilities are top notch too.

I've just never been impressed with Vipers. Neat concept, but so was the 427 cobra...45 years ago. I believe the Cobra had more interior space too......................

I have liked the Vipers since they have first come out. It was a brute of a car and with a brute of an engine. Very Shelby. One the pics of the new one that hood makes me think of a Firebird. I want my Viper to be Darth Vader bad to the bone.
