Default Watch recommendations ?

In the $600.00 range

Needs to be a "dress" watch, to go with my daily dress attire, (slacks, sportcoat, or suit)

I am getting bored with my 1999 Rolex, current value approx $2500.00 (was offered $2200.00 at a local jewelery/watch repair shop last week. (Was actually considering selling it. It has no sentimental value, was given to me by an ex girlfriend.)

Wondering if there are any decent stylish watches in the $600.00 range.

Am I stupid to be getting "bored" with my submariner ? Should I just stick with it ?

I KNOW IT IS PERSONAL PREFERENCE, but I am dying to get some THT feedback.

Ok.....let me have it.

post pics of the Rolex. Also check out TimeZone.com and look at the sales corner section. Nice selection of well maintained used watches for sale or trade. I have no affiliation with the site other than being a member and watch whore

Citizen's are nice. Seiko also has a few in the $650 MSRP price range from the Premier collection that you may like - Big Date Chronograph, maybe one of the Automatics?

I don't think I'll be of any help to you, I didn't know what I was clicking on until I clicked. Most watches keep time, I'd geta knock off and save the rest of the money! My Timex that I never use anymore is water proof for the boat and swimming and my cel phone keeps time. To put on a show I'd use the knock off. I'm too cheap.

Look at Tissot Watches.

My wife and I both have them and they have been great.

Best website for Rolex is www.therolexforum.com. They have a "for sale" and "want to buy" section along with all the other threads. May give you some idae what yours is really worth. I bought a Tudor sub in the 80's for approx $300, had not worn it in decades so I listed it there. Next day sold for $2K.

I have a Tonino Lamborghini I picked up for around $550 a few years back. Its not too fancy (i.e. gold and it only tells the time and date) but it does have a classy design and its extremely durable and dependable. I get more comments on this watch than I do when I wear my Rolex Daytona and I'm not scared to wear it when I go drinking.

It actually looks like the Daytona. Just a little "smoother," less rigid design. Silver with what looks like carbon fiber face. Its really a sleek looking watch. Bang for the buck, I couldn't be happier with it

I think that Raymond Weil makes dressy looking watches that are from plain to ornate.

Hit up Ebay and see what you find. Will give you a good idea what's out there.

A Sub is timeless and the older it gets, I think, the cooler it gets.

In that price range, I'd recommend a Tag Heuer. Keep an eye at at costco as they are priced right when they show up there.

I just bought this Bulova Titanium Automatic for $300. For the money you can't beat it. I also have Breitlings and Rolex's and this Bulova is among my favorites. In my opinion higher quality than TAG. I bought it on Amazon. It's the 98A112 model. I switched the band out for a nice black alligator band.
