Default Romantic weekend in Savannah...where to stay?

Looking for a place with a river view, historic district. I've just spent the last 2 hours wading through all the trip adviser, expedia websites. Just through a name out there...

Savannah Hyatt with river view. Too many bed and breakfast inns lack privacy. You run the risk of entertaining your neighbors if the night becomes real romantic.

We stayed at The Mansion and it was nice. It's not on the river but it's only a few blocks walk.

Got it...bed and breakfast's are way overrated...I don't like to share that much. And I was talking about breakfast...

x2 on the Hyatt

Leave the hotel and turn right. A very short distance to "The Warehouse"
It's a pretty neat place with a lot of locals, live music and cold beer!

Hyatt - just don't plan it on St. Patrick's Day!
A few years back we had a business conference on St. Patty's Day and no one relized what Savannah becomes on that day. Needless to say - a few of us had a GREAT time!

This years St. Pattys day should be exceptional..it falls on a Saturday. Worst is Sunday...no one wants to watch 100,000 SOBER "Irishmen" walk down the street.

The view from across the river is exceptional. I worked on Hutchinson Island (the spoil island across the river) for a couple years, and always appreciated that view of River Street.

The crime is MUCH lower on the island, btw. And no parking meter nazis.

Big Al

Al is that the one you take a ferry over to Savanah?

I was thinking that a romantic stay would be in the Garden of Good and Evil. That should make things interesting.

Yep.

It's a real attention getter the first time you are sitting by the pool enjoying a cocktail and a big ol ship passes right up in yer grille.

Bonaventure Cemetery is closed and locked at night. However, it is DEFINITELY worth seeing in daytime. Don't expect to see what was in the movie though.........
