Default Was the Hines Ward post Deleted???

Did someone say something they shouldn't have on the Hines Ward post that caused the Mods to delete it? I can't find it anywhere.

Probably because 2 members and a Mod decided that we had to have a sports section and if one were to post sports in Dockside, then the thread gets thrown to the dungeons of Sports.

I may be in the minority on this subject, but I think it would have been nice of THT to ask the members what they wanted. The subject came up, there was a few comments and a couple of days later, sports in any form was banned from Dockside Chat.

Well the title of the post didn't say anything about sports, so why would it get pulled from here and sent into that graveyard?

So are the new rules here in Dockside Chat that we can't even talk about sports related topics or it will get pulled and sent over there?

edit:
I argued with one of the Mods that a post should not be measured by the title, but the subject mater. She or he said, oh no, what goes into the sports forum is solely based off of the title….unlike every book in any library! Well it would appear she's had a change of heart and is now sending anything and everything to the sporting forum just so it has some type of activity.

I, for one, happen to enjoy dockside chat much more now that sports crap is gone, out, finished ... Except for soccer ... soccer is not a sport, it is a religion, so ok to post soccer stuff in dockside chat.

I don't really care except in principle, where does it end. I don't know why a separate forum was created. If they want to get rid of annoying posts, they should send anyone arguing Mac vs PC to the TIMEOUT FORUM!

OK, where is the Hines Ward thread?

Soccer is one step up from cricket and cricket is one step up from polo and polo is one step up from knitting.

Yes, it was moved to the Sports forum.
The structure of the forum is set up to please the most members. The sports forum was created as the result of a poll to determine if the members wanted it. The majority won. Some of you may object, but it was not my decision, but was the prevailing choice of the members. They asked for it to be a separate forum, so the forum was created.

So, to make it clear: It does not matter if it is the title or the subject matter, if it is related to sports such as football, baseball, basketball and soccer, and is posted outside of the Sports forum, it will be moved or deleted.

Croquet has to be in there somewhere. May I suggest we shoehorn it in between cricket and polo?

Oh thank god Nascar was not mentioned by Mod 4. Everyone knows that is not a sport but a religion too.

So what are you doing about the Masters 2012 post? Waiting till the guy gets his answers here in Dockside before you move it over to the graveyard? ~

Ok, I may be old and forgetful, how long did this poll run and exactly what were the results? I've pointed out that IMHO the change seemed arbitrary and useless without any real answers from anyone. Basically, the MODS have said, we did it, it's done, to bad if you don't like it! Again, it's your website and you can run the site as you see fit. Just don't tell me that there was a poll that ran long enough to get accurate results. If there was such a poll and the results were to create a separate Forum, so be it. I would respectfully ask you to publish all the stats from the poll. The length of time the poll ran, where it ran, was it pinned to the top, in which Forum, how many individual forum users were there during the poll, how many actually voted and the results of the poll.

Even in the original thread where someone brought up the thought of a need for a separate Forum, it was very divided as to it's need. It seemed to me that the Forum was created as a knee jerk reaction to the thoughts of a few posters. I remember that the new Sports Forum was created well before most people got to voice their opinion.

This is Dockside Chat, I can understand leaving politics and religion out because that's an excepted rule in many circles. The only people in the general public that I know that ban talk of sports are women from the North. Most guys and gals that I know, will talk sports on a regular conversational basis.

Just to be clear, I don't visit the bilge or the sports forum. BTW, I believe the original complaint was about sports was about it in the regional forums, not Dockside Chat.
