Default Surplus Lines Carrier (For Insurance on real estate)

Super long shot... but thought I'd ask here. Anyone familiar with Surplus Lines Carriers (Like Llyods, etc.)

I have a Llyods policy that has been super-competitive and I'm looking for two more... but I don't know anything about them in FL (I have a wholesaler that writes them for me in NJ, but I'm a greenhorn in FL).

Anyone?

Pete

Unless you mean 3 M&Ms - as in the hard candy that melts in your mouth not in your hands... I'm not at $3,000,000.00 :D

Any other ideas?

Old Pete- Send me a PM with an e-mail or phone number. I can give you the information you need. I have been working with E&S (surplus lines) carriers for 30 years in Florida.

$3MM was just reduced from $4MM last week. Agent called to see if I was interested.

State Farm and Citizen are out. The only other carrier I have heard of besides Lloyds is Lexington.

I don't know why they would have such a high threshold (if that's the write word) -- I've got a tiny policy with Lloyds (we're talking a $600 premium)...

I'm eager to learn more about how things work down here.

Try http://www.gresham-inc.com/ They are headquartered in ATL, but have offices in JAX, West Palm and Orlando. You may need to go through your agent to get to them as they are wholesaler only.
