Default Florida Keys Help

Decided to head to the Keys for wedding anniversary early April. Need some help on where to stay and things to do. Would like a semi private place. Would love to do some mahi fishing. Would this be a possibility this time of the year? Also, how far out is typical? Wife doesn't like to go out long distances. Just looking for some general information like what to expect weather wise and such. And, would it be better to fly to Key West, or to Miami and rent a car and drive? Whats the better place, Islamorada, Martathon, Big pine Key ect? thnks

I hear the fishing thing, but what else?

If you're going to rent a car in any case, then flying to KW or MIA makes no difference - shop airline price.

Fishing can be done out of any you mentioned. Fun stuff better in KW but, again, good meals in all three.
I'll be down for the month staying on Summerland.
I would suggest a B&B for the anniversary down in KW. You can charter out of there for your fishing. You need to tell the duration of your stay.

Agree with above.....

Personally, I really like Key West for all the bars and side activity along with the fishing and all.... I would maybe split it up, couple days in Key West and a couple in Islamorada and fish both places, so experience two slightly different places in the Keys... I have been going for almost 25 years straight in the summer time, my family loves it down there.

Fly into MIA,,, do a day on South Beach and then drive down to KW...

Stop in Islamorada for a day and then head to KW for a few days...

Drop the car in KW and then fly home....

If you can afford, hire a capt to take you to the Fort - fish, snorkel, explore...

Have fun

Any references for charters? Havn't decided on how long a trip, but probably 5 days. Budget wise, I'd like to stay under 10k. We've been to most of the other places like Cancun, Vegas, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, etc. Just want a laid back atmosphere with nice amenities.
