Default Does your wife or girlfriend..............

.........go fishing with you, bait her own hook and take the fish she catches off the hook?

It took a long time but my gal can and has done so for a couple of years. She is also looking forward to spring perch, walleye and crappie fishing.

my wife will not bait or take the fish off or even cook it for that matter. but i'm still working on it after 12 years. but i don't care i'm just glad she goes. she doesn't have a problem eating it though not saying she's fat just in general. all my buddies wives bait their hook and take fish off.

Yes, yes, and yes. The only day I get in trouble for wanting to fish is if I didn't ask her to go with. She will cut bait, fill the chum bag, back the trailer on the ramp, use the gaff, unhook fish, no problem using "the bucket", even help pop the heads off bait that "tree" up a cast net! Our bigger boat was actually her pushing for it, not me. Not that I complained any!! She is a bigger help and usually out fishes the boys. Gotta love seeing the bikini bottoms with bait fingers wiped off across the back!! One of her only special requests has been her custom pink rods.

If you crack a beer at 6:00 AM at home you are a drunk. If you crack a beer at 6:00 AM on a boat you sir are a sportsman.

Absolutely! And she does it with enthusiasm, I might add.

One time my Pops was here visiting me from PA before he moved out here to retire.
My partner, Mom and Pops were on the way home from some sight-seeing in the area. We saw a blacktail deer on the shoulder of the road that was not there when we left in the morning.

I pulled over and we got the butcher kit out of the truck and started getting to work on the backstrap and rear quarters that weren't too road rashy.

My Pops just stood there in awe as my lady and I went to town.

Later he took me aside and told me I had found the finest woman he had ever met. To take good care of her as I was one of the luckiest men alive.

Heck yeah to all.
Both daughters too...
I do end up doing most of the filetting, but only because i am faster. Boat is hosed off by the time i am done.
Also, I tie most of the knots... They catch most of the fish..

The important part of the fishing aint the fish but the fishing.....
The important parting part of loving is the love... And doing it with all your heart...

See the album Fishing Music 1 produced by my old buddy David Thompson

Available on Amazon....

Well, the first wife would do all the above, and then clean em too,

This one was a bit of a prima-donna...but the longer she waited for me to bait her hook, the quicker she learned to bait her own. she also didn't want to sit around and hear me tell her what wife #1 would do...

She just doesn't like cutting the tail off a live pinfish first to get a little more scent in the water!

Some of the fish we catch she can't release, so I help.

Also, she does a damn fine job of cooking.

Annddddd....she is almost always the first one to ask "when are we going out again?"..

i've yet to get mine on the boat for a true fishing trip. I'm a little hesitant right now, but she may very well surprise me. I am going to teach her to back the trailer this summer. I want her to enjoy the boat and fishing as much as I do. If I have patience (which ain't gonna be easy) I think she will do just fine. The first time I get mad at her she won't like it anymore. Going to try to keep it positive and see where we end up. Wish me luck!

If anyone has any suggestions on introducing the sport let me know, I don't mind advice

I would never want to turn my wife into a man just as she doesn't want me to be a woman.

I love the fact that my wife can fish. I have also been teaching her traditional man skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, engine mechanics) over the course of our marriage. She remains as sexy to me (in fact even more) than the day I met her.

Amen to that brother. I have also taught my wife everything she needs to know so that when I die first, she can hold her own against any slick talking mechanic, plumber, contractor, roofer, or any other tradesman I have not mentioned.

I keep telling her though that she must be the one that goes first, I need someone to hold the door open for me when I get there or I might not get in .

Absolutely. my wife is the first one to cut bait, bait the hooks, and get lines in the water. She also is usually the first one to catch a fish, and she takes them off without my help, and tosses them in the fishbox (or back over the side, if that's where they should go). She has hooked and landed tuna, w/o any help from anyone, but she still wants me to clean them. Good fishing partner; I like having her along.

I guess my Mom "turned me into a man" by teaching me to fish?
