Default More Law Enforcement Incompetence

A holes like this make the good cops cringe. Unfortunately it's the family who loses their dog, and the taxpayer who pays!

I remember that when it happened. Glad for the family. I am usually an avid LE supporter but that ass wipe is either a Lon Horiuchi wannabe or a puss. Hope he is flipping burgers and not still on the street.

We just had a Sheriff's Deputy and School Resource Officer get arrested for having sexual relations with a student under the age of 15. He is 44.

No we don't live in West Virginia.

You get what you pay for. Sad story all around, but it's not uncommon.

I don't know about that, we have many cops on staff in our area making well in excess of 100K, some are as much a nit wit as the guys in this story, just haven’t been caught yet.

Something similar happened in Southern Calif a few years back -- except it wasn't a dog, it was the homeowner.

I was getting ready to see another cop bashing thread, but this time I say the cop did screw up on this one. Last time I checked a lab with a wagging tail is not a threat, especially if the kids asked to lock it up first. If a cop shot my dog I would have been thrown in jail for tackling him to the ground and bashing his face in. Its not just a dog its a family member.

Just another reason to not let the cops in your house without a warrant.

X2. If they shot our dog it would be just like losing a child. I knoe there are some people that think it's "only a dog". It's those kind of people that my wife and I have trouble getting along with. The bumper sticker on my truck reads "THE MORE PEOPLE I MEET, THE MORE I LIKE MY DOG'. Nuff said.

Such a stupid statement. The overpaid jackasses are probably the worst of them all.....feel privileged and untouchable making $200k+ a year. Disgusting that we as taxpayers are held hostage to pay that much.

And if that took place in West Virginia, the girl would've probably been his niece.

I have two separate comments:

1) The request to put the dog in a closed room is not only respectful to the police but also for the dog. But in saying that, how do the police know the room the dog is placed in isn't the room holding all the crime? ....but that doesn't mean the dog couldn't have been shuffled from one room to another as time permitted.

2) Journalism at it's finest, "No criminal activity or wrong doing was found after a search of the apartment, although drugs were found in one of the building's other units." What relevance is there to drugs being found in another tenant’s apartment on possible another floor in another wing of the apartment????

There was another one not long ago where they shot the dog who was not only chained up but they were at the WRONG HOUSE. I'm like CaptKennyW. Shoot my dog and I would be getting a free ride in the back of a police car.

Cop loses his cool because of a tail-wagging lab retriever? I love the part about how they were "denied permission to lock up the dog'.

Protect and Serve, my a**. Glorified meter maids just marking time to collect tax-payer funded, 6 figure pensions after 20 'hard years'. Whatever.

So you are say a homeowner came around the corner wagging his tail and was shot?

I drove the Misses and a few of her friends to a club one night to go see some guy that supposedly had a tail.
