Default J.D. Power and Associates - Auto Dependability

Lexus is the top performer in a survey of vehicle dependability released Wednesday.
Lexus owners reported 86 problems per 100 vehicles. Porsche, Cadillac, Toyota and Scion rounded out the top five.

The worst performers were Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Jaguar. Chrysler owners reported 192 problems per 100 vehicles.

Is anyone surprised?

Cadillac being there has me a bit stunned but having owned all but the Scion in the top 5 I am not surprised of the list.

What's it going to take for those rides we all know are poor to step up?

But Ram truck owners will go toe to toe with you arguing otherwise.
They are a stubborn lot.

All our GM rolling stock has been good.

That Dodge/Chrysler are POS needs to be put in print and was voted on, ha! Lower than even Kia or Suzuki or any of the other off-brands.

One manufacturer HAS TO be on the bottom.

I wouldn't take or buy one either.

Just imagine a used one . . .

I am on my third Ram since 2001. I have put over 450,000 miles on them and have had very few issues.

Don't take that as defending Chrysler.

450,000 miles on each of them, or on all of them combined? 150,000 miles shouldn't be considered "high" for a car. Unless its a POS.

cadillac has been improving steadily...I had an 05 CTS...3yr lease 0 problems in 3 yrs...and yeah I know that was 7 yrs ago

wife has 09 es350 lexus...no real complaints, I just don't like the car, like driving an oversized marshmallow...

my complaint is that the "require" service every 5000 miles to be done at the dealer for $220....a pop to keep the warranty...that is a ripoff, my CTS was every 10,000 miles for $66 at the dealer...my 2010 infiniti G37 coupe is every 10,000 miles and I can have it done anywhere, just keep receipts...1st one was free at dealer, second one was $39 at tires-plus...

They cannot refuse warranty because maintenance is performed at a non-dealer location.

OK, thanks that's good to know 'cause the manual reads differently...

I don't put much weight behind any JD Power survey. It's a marketing tool, plain and simple. If you really want to know about a car, go to the many automobile mags and look at their driver's reports on cars they've tested over the course of a year...or go to Consumer Reports.

Really? What does the manual say, exactly?

Poor Chrysler/Dodge, every single news station this morning had been repeating the report about how they are the worst overall.
