Default Offer to sell my time share?

I keep getting phone calls and mail solicitations to sell my time share. Only problem is I DON"T OWN ONE!

My wife is convinced our identity has been stolen, but I have several blocks in place that make that basically impossible.

The only connection, albeit remote, that we can come up with is that the people that had our phone number before us have or had one. We've had our number for 10 years now and still get calls for "Mr & Mrs Badpayor".

The concern is that some of the solicitations have our names on them!

Anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

I think this is a new take on an old scam like the money from Nigeria. They're hoping you have a time share. They know there are jillions of folks out there who would give their left nut to sell their time share. So, Joe Timeshare gets this message, accepts, the scammers write you a rubber money order and get you to pay some "appraisal" fee or something. They keep the fee and you're on the hook for the hot cashier's check.
