McNabb could have been better, but the Eagles did pretty well. With out the interceptions Philly would have had two more TDs on the scoreboard. That makes you think a bit.

David:

I didn't mean to imply you were a bigot. If that is the way it sounded, I apologize. You said constantly. I can only tell you I hear him on the news every day. My kids trick or treat at his house. He never brings up race.

I can see how things are blown out of proportion when you don't live in a certain area. The fact is He doesn't constantly talk about what a great thing it is for a black QB. When you say constantly you are wrong. There may be other guys playing the race card but you got the wrong guy.

Let's get passed it. Can you stop calling me names and cursing at me please. That is not the way I'm used to discussing things on this forum.

BTW....Vick is not the best QB in the game. In order...1. Tom Brady....2. Peyton Manning...3. McNabb (biased) 4. Rothlisberger...5. Vick. IMHO.

I don't like the what if's but......

If you want to look at it that way........let's take away Brady's fumble and a few Pat's penalties, one of which cost them an interception and another that cost them a great return from Troy Brown. The Pats would have been up at least another 10 - 14 points and would have really changed the whole complextion of the game.

Eagles theme song "Fly Eagles Fly"

Patriots theme Song "We are the Champions" again

I wanna know how Teddy Bruschi did not draw a flag on the INT right at the end zone, I am not sure who the receiver was but Bruschi leveled him before the ball even got there and he was never looking at anything but the receiver I also saw Patriot players pushing and shoving after the play that would have drawn a flag any other game, and there were a few shots on TV showing an Eagles player on the ground and a Patriot coming in and giving the guys the helmet first hit to the body. I had no interest in either team but I did see a lot of things I did not like. TO is all that I wish he would go play for the STEELERS, he rocks! McNabb soso his passes look like some of the ducks I shoot before they hit the water. Brady nothing spectacular just did what he had too.

Weakfish,

I accept your apology. I have been called a lot of things, most of which are deserved, but bigot is not one of them. As you stated you didn't intend to convey that message, I will withdraw my less then flattering comments and we can move on from here.

For what it is worth, the rest of my family was pulling for the Eagles since the Falcons "loss the game" against them.....they made me go to another room to watch the game!

And I accept your withdraw. For the record, I never called you a bigot, I don't even know how to spell it.

Smart family you got there. I've got family in Atlanta and Savannah. I get "yankee" this and "yankee" that. All fun.

Last year I started a new topic about football being fixed. Some laughed. Some thought it was a stupid comment. After last night...........I rest my case. It doesn't have to be fixed for wins or losses, just points. Sad if it's true, but I don't doubt it anymore.

By the way, the Superbowl last night did NOT feature the two best teams in the NFL! It featured the Patriots and the best team in the NFC. There are two other teams in the AFC that I consider to be better teams than the Eagles or any team in the NFC this year. Just ask the Eagles what they think about the Steelers.........
The NFC stunk this year. It was alot closer than I thought it would be.

I have often had thoughts about football being fixed, I just can't fathom how it would work though, and who calls the shots?

As far as McNabb throwing for 357 yards, my opinion is that if you throw the ball 51 times in a single game you should have at least 300 yards or more. Its kind of like a guy in the NBA who's averaging 20 points while taking 35 shots per game.

For the record, I think McNabb is a very good quarterback who had a very bad game against a team that makes most quarterbacks look very bad.

Only 9 days untill pitchers and catchers report!

Regards,
Doug L.

I was extremely fortunate to have been at the game, on the 40 yard line, and in an incredible seat. I will not likely have such an opportunity again. Here’s my take from watching from the stands:

1) The most tension was in the first half. The biggest uncertainty was how the Pats and Brady, with his mind on the loss of his grandmother, would respond to the overwhelming Eagles – friendly crowd after the birds went up 7-0. After the first Eagles touchdown, the fight song was deafening. At 1:48 in the 4th I don’t even remember hearing it.

2) TO played a great game, true to his word. But what makes it incredible is how well he played so quickly after his injury. We should all subscribe to his hyperbaric - HMO.

3) Pats fans are used to hearing SOME (not all) Rams, Steelers, Colts, and now Eagles fans proclaim their quarterbacks coincidently and repeatedly choose to have their worst games against the Pats. McNabb did not lose the game for the Eagles. He was pressured constantly, sacked 4 times, completely contained, and had nowhere to throw in the secondary (couldn’t be seen on TV?). Two of his touchdowns were two of the most accurate passes of the game and had to be. There were more than 3 INTs, but I recall at least one being overturned due to a Patriots penalty. There is a common denominator and it is probably not the first statement being true.

4) If the Eagles lost this game it is because they have no running game.

5) The Pats won this game. They held possession longer, gained more yards, had more scoring drives and forced more turnovers up to halfway through the 4 quarter. From then on, they played low risk, clock killing offense and guard-the-edges, clock killing defense. The game was essentially over at that time – as also expressed by the surrounding Eagles fans.

6) The NFL has zero interest in attempting to aid in the Pats successes. To the contrary:
A) The Pats played the most difficult schedule with far more than a fair share of games at times other than 1 pm Sunday and against teams coming off bye-weeks. If the NFL wanted the Pats to succeed, they would have, at a minimum, given them a fairer schedule with respect to the bye and short week & night games.
B)If the NFL wanted the Pats to succeed, they would not have emphasized the 5 yard holding rule.
C)The Patriots were repeatedly penalized in this game and the Eagles got away with a huge pick that everyone in the stadium saw but the refs. If the NFL wanted to help the Pats as alleged, one would expect the opposite.

7) According to SOME (not all) Rams, Panthers, Steelers, Colts and now Eagles fans, the Pats now have unofficially NOT WON 3 Super Bowls IN 4 YEARS, thereby declaring them an UN-DYNASTY. Rather, each of these teams has lost them or the opportunity to play in one. What ever happened to “Congratulations, Good game. We’ll see you again next year”? If “there’s no crying in baseball”, then when did it become ok to do it in a real sport like football? There is a common denominator and it is probably not the first statement being true.

8) Rationalizing that it’s the point spread that counts, is exactly that. There is No Lombardi Trophy given out for gambling and it doesn’t pass the straight face test with true fans of the game. Also, a good bettor would have known to take the teaser.

Of course a straight up bet for a bottle of Makers with a very classy Eagles fan – WEAKFISH – is the best bet of all. I hope we’re both in the position to do it again next year.

Again, congrats to the Eagles for a great year and a hard fought game!
Bill

Can someone explain to me how Bruschi did not draw a flag on the INT at the end zone where he mowed the receiver down before the ball got there and was never looking at anything but the receiver

A little Pat's trivia:

Patriots home fields: Boston University,Fenway Park,Legion Field Alabama(The Red Sox were in the 1967 World Series and they moved a game vs the Jets figuring to make a killing at the gate where Joe Namath played his college days) Boston College,Harvard Stadium,Sheaffer Stadium and now Gillette.

When the Pat's moved to Foxboro the Sullivan family renamed the team "Bay State Patriots"! While in the process of creating the new logo, a sports writer mentioned that the abbreviation that news papers would use in the standings would be "BS Patriots"! Before playing a down as the BS Patriots the team changed it to New England.

So the point I'm trying to make is this: New England will take any Superbowl win, cheap or otherwise. It's been a long road with many stops. The Patriots ARE the model sports franchise of the pro sports world!

Pinkerton and Kearse out with cramps in the 3rd qtr , no 2 minute offense , the Eagles saw a simular defense last year when they lost to the Panthers in NFC Championship and had no answer for it.Thats incompetence on the coaches ,trainers and players part. A total package.
