30 for 51, 357yds, 3 TD's and 3 Int's. Too many int's to be sure, but give the guy a break, he wasn't THAT bad!
Sorry, but I think McNabb is an average QB. Did you see the catches his receivers made! They made him look good, as usual. The Eagles receivers had an outstanding game. Give him some average receivers and that 30 for 51 would have been more like 20 for 51.

Anyone who thinks that it could have gone either way hasn't watched the Pats lately. If Philly had scored 21 more pts the Pats would have scored another 24. That's just how they do it.
I will give Philly credit, T.O. is all that he thinks he is, and Mcnabb is a class act. Not many QBs would have taken responsibilty for a bad pass on a crucial drive like he did towards the end of the game.
They'll be back I'm sure. Tom

I didn't have a dog in this fight so hopefully this will come across as unbiased. The thing that jumped out at me was the lack of urgency at the end of the first half and also at the end of the game. They were down by 10 with 5 minutes left and it looked like first quarter play.

2nd- You are exactly right! If the Eagles had scored 28, the Pats would have scored 31, when the Pats need to score they open up and do. This team can play and win any kind of game from a grueling defensive struggle to a wide open aerial attack.....

As a PATS fan, I was thrilled that they won last night.

I will say that I was impressed with TO. I don't like him at all, but he put on a gutsy (if not the smartest move career-wise) performance.

I do like McNabb, but just couldn't understand why he looked like he was lobbing balls all night. He had a few great passes (like that TD from about 8 yards out when he somehow threaded the needle through 2 Pats defenders), but so many of the balls looked like they were up for grabs. Hence the 3 pics...

Reid is going to get blasted for the poor clock management at the end of the game. Could have been real interesting if they hadn't wasted 40 seconds or so.

Pats didn't look great, but as they often do, they did enough to get the job done. They got the big plays when they needed it, and didn't do anything too stupid.

My 2 cents - worth about half that...

Eagels peed away the last 2 minutes. Could not believe it myself. However, I was just holding my breath and grinning maniacally the whole time.

Cheap game? Where does that come from? Some contoversial calls but IR straightened those out.

If anyhting, seemed like the bounces went the Eagles way for the most part.

TO looked Good. McNabb looked bad running AND throwing. Westbrook had 44 yards (not so good).

P.S. Enjoyed the Bud Light ad where the guy ammends his fantasy - Tropical Island: ditches the two chicks and substitues a grill and a dog. Hilarious.

Typical Pats D. Boring and frustrating but effective.

How did Donovan McNabb win any games during the regular season ... he tells every defense player where he's throwing the Ball !!!! stares the reciver down the whole time .....

All I know is I won the first quarter pot!!!!!!

That was not the norm for #5. He only threw 8 picks all year. He usually hits 8-10 different recievers during the game, and typically displays great downfeild vision.

I agree with the above posts. That was the most pathetic attempt to score in the last two minutes that I have ever seen. The offense looked lazy and sloppy at the most critical point of the game. I'd have been pissed if I cared. Glad I'm not a philly fan, but sorry for those that are.

Well, I'll tell ya. To be a long suffering Boston sports fan, this goes beyond anything I could have dreamed. So not to complain, but my teenage kids seem to think this happens all the time around here. Of course I tell them to cherish these times but you know how teenagers are. And for the fans that bet the Pats, it would have been nice if Rodney H. had ran back that game ending interception so the Pats covered. And if anyone's up for a rivalry, the Celtics and the 76'ers both won yesterday, so they're still battling for first! And for anyone that calls this Superbowl a cheap win or rambles how much the Pats s**k,

I agree that the 2 minute drill at the end of the game was very poor by the Eagles....

but, I think a lot of McNabb's woes can be attributed to NE's defense....the fact that Philly had to throw the ball 51 times tells you a lot about their running game....which was not very strong...NE was able to blitz and be more agressive with a pass rush b/c Philly was not working the running game....

the TD that McNabb threw to Westbrook was an amazing play.....very few people in this world could have made that throw.....

I am not a Philly fan or anything......I just think that NE played a very smart, tough game on both sides of the ball.....

Well my Pats 34 to 14 score predictions was a little off..... but a win is a win.

Westbrook is a player.......McNabb under performed on the last two minute drive. They had plenty of chances in the game even with his interceptions. Some of McNabbs passes reminded me of Jim McMahons wounded ducks But that one 35 yarder to that wide reciever in the end zone was impressive..........

I will give T.O credit for playing...even though in the beginning of the game he looked like after catching the ball he was heading for the sidelines and was leary of putting his head down and giving a hit.....imho.

In the end defense wins games. Go Bears in 05!!

Andy

I've been waiting for ya brother!! Let me have it

All kidding aside, McNabb had a bad game. Pats played great. I will defend McNabb always against remarks like Rush Limbaugh etc. I got cursed out on a different thread for sticking up for him. McNabb is a class guy. He got booed by his own fans when he was draftedand I felt real bad for him then. It was his big day..and the response was by the fans at the draft were deplorable. What did he do....said it didn't bother him, laughed it off.

Rush Limbaugh makes a rediculous statement about him being over rated because he is black. He is beseiged by the media to respond. He finally just says I don't pay attention to those comments. Laughs it off. I've never heard him say poor me etc. or this and that because I'm black. Yes Tireless, I read the article you posted but didn't really pay much attention to it. What do you expect him to say when confronted with the questions? And what is the problem with it anyway?

Now the game. Pats are better. But not by much. I told everyone it was going to be close. These are the two best teams and organizations in football. Pats have three rings in 4-5 years, Eagles have more wins than any other team in the last 5 years. McNabb is not an accurate passer, but makes up for it in other ways. He can have bad games. Brady is in a zone like no other. He's the best right now. Of course he can throw in a clunker ( See Miami )

I copuld go on and on, but nuff said. Congrats Pats !! See you in Detroit!!!

Weak,

You imply I am a bigot, you don't have your facts right and now you want to talk about it - screw you! I wasn't a big fan of NE until last night and boy my neighbors could hear me cheering them on......we haven't seen the cat since the last interception. Have a nice day...

I don't think the game was anyway near as close as the score makes it out to be. It seemed like no matter what the Eagles did, including take the lead, the Pats would just go their workmanlike way and counter it.

Owens was impressive and Westbrook is a real weapon but they were exposed by a swarming D and what has to be some of the worst clock managment in history. I blame the Eagles coaches for that. McNabb's real good but the Pats D just takes an offense out of their game- he got frustrated and couldn't execute.

Dynasty- I guess so. The best ever, no way. BUT they always seem to do just enough to win, not flashy, almost boring, but certainly successful, and obviously reflecting the personality of their coach.

Congrats to all the Pats fans.
