Hey Sags!

Whassapenin?

I'm still here and things are going good..

As for mud Is. This time of year is really a crap shoot. I prefer to fish the Port Aransas side, anchoring up about 150 yards West of the tip of the hook (on the bar). Basically, the small cut on Mud will be at your 1-2 o'clock. Does that make sense?

However...

This time of year when the water is still cold, the fish are a little elusive and picky, you really need to scout around a bit. I assume the water temps are in the high 50's or low 60's - with that I would probably try drifting (winds permitting) Traylor Island from about the middle cut of Estes to the deep water cut across from Mud. I would also try to get a good spot on/around Califonia Hole. Staying in 4-8 feet of water. Oh yeah, the backside (Rockport side) of Mud is also quite good and when the winds are howling, that is a good place to stay protected.

If nothing hits at any of these, GO DEEPER!

Go out to the middle of bay on the way, like between Mud Isle and Rockport and hit some of the wells out there in 10+ feet of water.. This is the best time of year for many, but it can also be the toughest time to find the fish. When you do find them, they will be thick!

Later,
Chris

Thanks Chris,

Glad to hear everythings going good, I was just scouting for the end of April - 1st of May for Babe's on the Bay!! I got elected to drive the boat and net the fish!!! LOL so I guess I need to know where I'm going and try and put them on some fish. Again if you get home and have time give us a shout and we'll wet a line, later Sags
