Default Looks Like Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Is On May 5th

"Money" Mayweather posted on his Twiiter and Facebook pages a challenge to Pacquiao to meet May5th in Vegas saying "Step Up Punk" in the typical Mayweather style. This is going to be some fight! I imagine this is a formal invite and the technicalities have been worked out and all parties are in agreement as to the how drug testing will be handled.

I love Manny and absolutely HATE Floyd. I dont think it will be a great fight. Its not in Floyds style to be in any kind of "fight". Hes a great, yes Great, counter puncher. Im afraid Mayweather will win. He will expose Manny. Manny's one of my favorite boxers ever so this kills me to look at the fight this way and I hope Im very wrong and Manny knocks the thug POS on his Money a$$ in round one...Or beats him to a pulp were he quits on his stool like Hoya did

Boxing has been going south for decades... I am a big fan - but they need to do something or we will not be watching any boxing in the future ....

Anyone see "When we were kings".... If not - check it out.......

Boxin is a "Po" mans Sport. A way to fight yourself out of the Ghettos and Slums. Italians and Irish dominated. Then blacks got involved and dominated. Now its your Mexican/Latin countries that dominate....Jus a theory for the decline of boxin

And MMA isnt ? You wont see any Ivy League fighters

Latin = Light to middleweight

They do not dominate other weight classes

Era of the Super Heavyweights....The yhave ruined the division IMO. Zero competition. I cant believe people consider them the "best" of all time. I believe a Polish guy holds Light Heavyweight and then old man Hopkins for Cruiser. ....I cant think of 4 US title holders

Oh,sorry..Shwew. I tend to stay away from lipturds screamin racist when you mention a man of color...LOL..Over reaction..Yes,Heavyweights have been dominated by blacks.. I guess my points lost in texting. Look at the cultures that dominated and the time period they dominated...Typically they were the poorest of the poor at the time...Mexicans generally dont get over 210 so they have no chance....But hell, dumbasss John Ruiz held the HW Belt for awhile...I think?
US just isnt a poor country and theres no reason to fight....I guess thats my point in a 1 sentence nutshell... Like I said I cant think of 5 US belt holders....Hopkins Ward.....?

Kidding aside - I love the sweet science - and saddened that the sport has gone in this direction....

I grew up in the 80's with a great middle weight class and then enjoyed the Tyson/Holyfield et al era....

IMHO - they need to unify the titles and build it back up with credible matches....

Its my favorite Sport by far. One on one. I like the MMA OK,but like you said there seems to be more of a science to Boxing(Not takin anything away from MMA,they're jus badasses!!). 80s were good. The heavyweights havent been worth watchin since lazy a$$ Lewis took the title over.
On a side note: Its sad Frazier didnt get more "Publicity" after his death. This guy was in the division at the wrong time,I love watchin his fights. Ud think ESPN would have showed alot of his fights??? Maybe I missed it...Joe was Po too..Dirt Po

Its a shame Joe went down that way..... He was a great fighter.....

I blame the promoters ..... Boxing at its prime is much better than MMA...

My quick fix = unify the titles,,, put it back on Sunday regular TV,,, and make the matches competitive ... Will take a few years

^^^^What a Left Hook!!!! Yes,Don King and other promoters didnt help at all. My theory is a far fetched one but worthy of an arguement. Regular TV??? Far fetched idea there....We will be payin for the Super Bowl in a few yrs prolly
