Default Need Advice

I've suspected for some time that my wife has been having an affair. The usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up. She started going out "with the girls" a lot recently although when I ask which girls, it's always "just some friends from work, you don't know them".

I always look for her ride coming home but she always walks from around the corner, I can usually hear a car driving off as she walks toward the house. If it really is a taxi why not just get dropped off in front? I once picked up her cell phone just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again, and why I was checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my boat which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she was getting out of. It was while I was lying beside my boat that I noticed rust on one of the bolts on the transom that secures the outboard.

Should I take it back to the dealer for replacement or should I just take the opportunity to buy the titanium bolts that I have always wanted? It's a big decision so I thought I would ask for your advice. Maybe I'll just try and buff off the rust? I am very stressed about this rust. Please help.

Thanks

Its great to make light of this, but having been in this situation, I assure you its not funny haha or fun at all.

The fact is, you know in your heart what to do. In fact, you knew before you even went out there to look.

I think thats the hardest part really. Every moment you live this lie, it eats away at you. Easy to say from here, but you need to nip this in the bud.

maybe you can order the bolts online, but I would go straight to the store, cost be damned

I am slow today. I had to read it twice. I don't envy your decision. I only like doing things once when it comes to stuff like this. Keep your head up. PS That was hilarious!

Good one!

Kinda reminds me of the Clint Eastwood movie where the girl asked him "Have you ever been married?"
"Yep"
"What happened?"
"I caught her fooling around with my best friend."
"What did you do?"
"I shot her."
"What about him?"
"He was my best friend."

Thanks for all the kind and helpfull advice. Think I'll go with the new titanium bolts. Should I use 4200 or 5200 when sealing these.

Hey Tamos, if she's getting rusty then you need to do something, and do it now! March right over there and get those nuts off her. You might need to use some penetrating oil, although it sounds like she's pretty loose as it is. Take a stiff wire brush and scrub really hard in the grooves. After she's had all she can take, put your nuts back on, although be careful she's not too tight...but after all the work that your neighbors have helped you do sounds like that won't be a problem either. You'll be good to go for a few more years..... but IMHO I'd replace the whole mess with a newer model that causes you less trouble. And it will cost you less in the long run to get rid of the old screw now...after all, used screws just aren't reliable anyway.

BTW, I really feel bad for you about your wife, I wish I had some advice I could pass along...
