Default Smokin'

Picked up Big Black up a few years ago and have cooked a ton of meat on it. Anyways, just got her cleaned up for a Competition in a couple weeks and couldn't resist a few pics.

Would that be a few pix from recently, or a few pix from about 7 years ago?

I ask because the meta data embedded in your pix suggests the photos wee taken in 2005, consistent with the era of the Sony DSC-200 you used to take the pix. The images were last modified on Dec 22, 2011 -- today, could be resizing for posting. The date of creation for the images is Jan 1, suggesting maybe you didn't set the date on your camera? And no lic plate on the smoker?

Either way, it's a very nice rig. Just curious about when the pix were taken?

Does the truck look 7 years old? Or are you suggesting that he photoshopped it in?

To the OP, very nice setup.

The pictures were taken about 4hrs before I posted them. You got the camera right though. The smoker is not new, it is well seasoned. We are hosting a barbecue competition in a couple of weeks so I had a new powder coat job on it. Just picked it up yesterday. Thanks for looking. And yes, no plate on the smoker. It's mostly used on our grounds so it doesn't travel to often.

Upon further analysis of the meta data, it appears that you never sent in the warranty card on that Sony DSC-200. What kind of game are you trying to pull here mister.

Is that door on the end the fire box? I am guessing that the vent on the other end pulls the smoke though real even.
Do you have problems with the smoke and heat staying high up in the smoker? does it create hot spots? I have hotspots on a MUCH smaller smoker and have been messing around with baffles to get the smoke coming up in he middle of the smoker.

What do you smoke? Share some tips while I wipe the drool off my keyboard

Nice smoker! Seen the tires melt off of one such as that at a music festival when the whisky became more important than the meat several years back.

Looking at the size I would guess brontosaurus ribs.

Neat cooker.

The smoker is 16' but only has 12' of cooking area. We use it mostly on our local Fairgrounds for our events but we are hosting a Florida BBQ Asooc. event next week. I am going to enter Butt, Brisket, Chicken and Ribs. I am also going to sell ribs only during the event. Will post pictures later.
