Default iPhone as hotspot

Verizon charges to use the iPhone as a hotspot. Is there a way around that to pair my iphone with an iPad2?

If your ipad doesn't have a built in aircard, you'll have to buy one and use with a cradlepoint mbr900 router. Then you will have a router that you can use with multiple computers/ipads. Unfortunately you'll have fees to use the aircard and you'll have to either pick one up on ebay or buy one new.
Also a Mefi card will do the same but is pricey . Also the hookup from cradlepoint to ipad is time consuming as it won't work at first.. I just picked up a small inverter and now can use the ipad or a computer in the car.

Ok. I have a 3G iPad, I just thought tethering was an easy push of a button, figures Verizon charges for it.

My Motorola Android has a hotspot feature. I can get a I-pad connected wireless to it, but can't get the internet to work on the I-pad thru the hotspot.

Just loaded a firmware update on my BlackBerry Torch.....the update included the ability to turn the phone into a hotspot. Syncs perfectly with both my laptop and iPad. And AT&T isn't charging extra - yet.
