So far I am very happy with the Bosch ICON blades. I have had them for about 4 months on my truck. The blade has a serious curve to it and does a good job. I believe they are made of silicone not rubber.

It's the Rain-X that's ruining the blades. I live in FL and I use Bosch ICON too. They last a few years. You have to clean them off every few weeks when you was the car.

Agree. Try the Bosch or Michelin blades - and not necessarily their budget models.

Less natural rubber being used in them. I agree, they suck!

I used to use the silicon ones from Walmart, but they don't carry them anymore. The thing I liked was, they left a residue on the glass which caused the rain to bead like wax. With any speed, you could get by with not even running the wipers.

Just went through replacing blades on three vehicles. A little painful to the wallet at over $20 each. Went with three different better brands that pep boys had including their own. I'm going to wait and see who's last longer but I'm sure if I get through to July I'll be surprised.

Had very good luck with PIAA. Lasted over 1 yr in CT and RI. Pricey but worth it.
I also use Rain x on the windows to move the excess water off.

A previous girlfriend used to QC @ Triden ...their plant made wipers. Instead of giving you 500 pages on wipers I'll boil it down to a few words.

The cheaper the wiper is the more regrind there is in it and that translates into poor life and performance. K-mart and the like buy 3rds and 4ths, that's why they are cheaper then anywhere else.

German auto manufactures tend to have the strictest tolerance when it comes to wiper manufacturing...therefore they are considered to be the best in the industry. GM's standards are a 3rd rate product to that of the German products with Dodge and Ford in between.

Popular aftermarket brands do especially well if their wiper line is the lion share of their business...they can't afford to sell junk.

I just use Rain-x with no wipers and have a chamois if for some reason the water doesn't roll off well due to wind.

A couple years ago I got the Goodyear wipers from Costco. They are still working well. I use rainx also.

Put on Rain X blades seven months ago. Still working like new. Best wipers I have ever had.

I suggest wiping blade with alcohol occasionally.
