Sorry I keep asking these "tech" questions here but these tablets are all new to me
Daughter is wanting IPAD for Christmas, not any other tablets just IPAD and NOT WANTING A DISCUSSION OR OPINIONS ON DIFFERENT BRANDS PLEASE
What is the difference between 16 & 32 and other options .
What do I or Admiral need to look for
Will be for 18 yr old daughter that does have Iphone and loves it but wants this instead of laptop to surf the net, not really too sure what else they do
Again strictly IPAD comments and discussion, we ALL know how THT threads can get

I got my wife the 16G with 3G for b-day last month. If your daughter will not be loading up with movies I would think the smallest (=less exp model) 16G would suffice. We probably will not be using the 3G other than on vacations but its nice having the option if wifi is not available. And since she has iphone she will be familiarwith the ipad.

Just bought one for my son last friday. I got the 16 without 3g. My buddy has the iPad1, loads movies without any problems and is pretty friggin awsome. Apple had their one day sale on this one for about 450.00 shipped. I don't think you can go wrong. Just stay away from e-bay on something like this.

On the memory, unless you know what apps she uses and the types of things she stores (movied, photos, music), I would opt for the higher memory. My music library alone, which is not overly extensive, takes up 10 gig of space.
I believe they all have wifi and the only other real option is 3G. I would not pay the extra for 3G as she will need an additional data plan (monthly cost). Wifi will allow her to use it on the net wherever there is wireless internet (or wired) available, including home. If she already has the i-phone, I believe she can use the iphone as a wifi hub as well.

Wife uses hers to watch movies and TV shows she gets on Amazon prime. Works good. My opion is nothing beat a laptop to surf the net. There are many programs that require Microsoft programs to open and I Pad can't open them.
They are nice alternative to a Kindle and are for all intents a souped up I Phone without the phone.

On mine now. Unless she will be storing movies, 16 is all she needs. All ipad2's are the same and run the same software at the same speed. The only difference is storage. A 16 will store 3 movies no problem and a few hundred songs.

Typing this on one now.
We got the 16 with 3G about a month ago. 2 weeks later, it took a tumble and the glass shattered. Thank goodness for the American Express buyer protection. Never used it before but it reimbursed me for a replacement.
Get a good case...we have an Otterbox, now....

How do you like the one with the 3g connection, have thought about that to replace my laptop at home(getting old) so I would also have internet when away from home
Figured it would be nice to have on the boat

They're much better at surfing porn than an IPhone.
The brainwashing starts early, and after that there IS NO OTHER TABLET.....
I will admit that where I work, they've started replacing laptops w/ IPads at approx 33% savings compared to the cost of the laptop. Of course, I'm talking Japanese manufacturing vs. Chinese manufacturing. (Note IPad will be el producto de Brazil by the end of the year...)

I will add to the above comments that my sister bought one, brought it into the office the day after she got it. She brings her dogs to work and one sits on my mothers desk. While showing us the new ipad, she sat it on the newspaper that the dog was sitting on. Someone came in the office and the dog jumped up barking and charged towards the door making the ipod slide off the desk on to the floor. Amazing it didn't break. The drop made it turn off but if fired right back up.
