Default Infiniti G35 Coupe

Well I have been looking for a new car for awhile. I currently have a 1999 Honda Accord v6 w/120k miles. It is still in great shape, but want to get rid of it while it still has some value.

After driving many cars, the infinit g35 is incredible I mean wholly crap that car is fast.

Any one have one? and have you had any problems? I will probably pick it up next week as my dealer has the color and setup I want.

Anyone want to see what it looks like click here:

Thanks

I drove the Infiniti G35 and the BMW 330i. I bought the BMW. Both nice cars. A friend shopping at the same time bought the G35 and loves it. Very powerful. I will say with out all wheel drive it is bad in the rain and horrible in any snow. Good luck with it.

Scott,
Excellant point, I am going to drive the G35 sedan which is all wheel drive. Has the same horsepower but is a tad lighter. Hmmmm, we will have to see.

We had a G35 sedan which we traded for the FX...see my post below about the untimely demise of the FX.

The G was a blast to drive...some caveats though...the seats are not particularly comfortable for long periods of time...the front wheels are impossible to keep clean...and the car eats brake pads for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I test drove a 2003...great all-around fun package. Good power, and the exhaust tune sounded sooo sweet. I ended up with a Acura CL Type S...which was it's equal in power and more interior space(I was somewhat cramped in the Infinity). If all I wanted was a pure sports coupe, I would've gone with the G35.....but it just didn't suit my needs.

Now in 2005. the infiniti has more horsepower, 280hp. The sedan has the same, I am going to drive the awd sedan, I imagine it handles just as good as the coupe, may not be as sporty but atleast I could get stroller in the trunk

With AWD, it should be a rocket. I drive an Audi A6 4.2 Quattro now...you can't believe the difference AWD makes on a 4-door sedan. Handles and accelerates better than most sports sedans.
You'll love the AWD G35.

I drive an Audi A4 Quattro (which I love) and have liked the looks of both the G35 coupe and sedan since they came out. My reliablity and (according to some reliable press) that of the other German cars has been awful. Not to mention the dealer and service treatment. After owning several Japanese cars (Honda, Nissan), I wouldn't hesitate to go for the Infiniti sedan with AWD. I have heard that the coupe is a blast- better than the Nissan Z due to some tweaking and wheelbase adjustment, but the space of the sedan is tops for practicality.

That was on the short list!
We got the new Accura TL!
It's a rocket ship! I wish I could have gotten it
with manual but my wife is the primary driver.
(read "her car")
It was the best rated in consumer reports
for that class.
'Sea trial" a TL before you but thr G35 and post
your results!

Cant speak to the G35 directly, but I have owned 3 Infiniti's (2 currently) 2 Q45's and 1QX4. In 9 years the most serious problem I've had was brakes needed replacing at 105,000 miles and the wipers wore out. They are extremely well made and very reliable

Without a doubt the G35 Coupe is in my opinion one of the best looking cars on the road today, my wife and I checked them out last year as our first choice but the only problem was I didn't fit tiny cockpit. So after looking around some more we got an Acura TSX 6 speed man this car is a blast to drive 200HP 4 cylinder that just wants to be driven, but if I had fit in the G35 thats what my wife would be driving.

We own a 2004 G35X. The X is the all wheel drive. Wow What a car! We traded out of a BMW 528i for this car and have no regrets. This car has a lot more power, and dollar for dollar vs the BMW, you get a lot more for your money. We have everything but the technology package on it. Just truned about 12K miles on it so we have some nice drive time under our belt. Get it!

Thanks for all of the replys. Been out of town for the last 4 days and now I have the freakin flu...UGGGHHHH.
Anyway, I am going to the acura delership tomorrow, just too see. I heard the new acura RX has 300 horsepower.

But I would say right now it is going to be the G35 coupe or sedan. I have to take the admerial to get her 2 cents.

Hopefully this week, and it will be zoom zoom.

Why would you think of getting AWD in SC? I drive a BMW AWD and a BMW with X-Drive but it's because I have to have 4 wheels turning for the amount of snow I receive and my steep/long driveway.

AWD will definitely take away from the RWD feeling you get from either the BMW or G35. Both great cars IMHO but the G35 offers a lot more for the $$ than the BMW.

Firefly,
AWD, heck I don't know why I want it. I was thinking we might would take it to Richmond Va every now and then and they do get snow and sutff. That is where my family is.
But I agree, I am hung up big time on the coupe. We will see, I have to say that the g35 is a lot of car for $32k.

Hey we have G35 X AWD here in Florida! It is my wife's car, so I feel better knowing she has AWD and is driving around in some of the summer thunderstorms we have here.

I've had my G35 Sedan for almost 3 years and 42k miles. The best car I have ever owned. I keep looking at other vehicles but nothing impresses me as much. Want to go back to a pickup truck but just can't give up my G.

The handling and power still impresses me and I find it very comfortable and safe feeling. Zero problems that the dealer didn't immediately take care of. Just small stuff such as rattles, and brakes, which were covered under warranty for quick wear. They have since changed them.

As far as the snow handling, I see no need for the X. I have driven it in all the nasty weather we have had this year in snow sleet and ice, and have never once come close to getting stuck. The VDC and traction are amazing at keeping it pointed and hooked up. The near 50/50 wieght helps the most, as well as new Pilot Sport A/S tires.

I did loose it once running 60 when I hit an icey patch and the VDC saved my butt. A gust of wind pushed my rear over and caused a temporary loss of control. AWD would not have helped.

I like the TL, especially the interior, but I am not going to go back to FWD. I hate torque-steer and drive with the throttle often.

We looked at the G35 Coupe closely for the wife but decided on the 350Z Touring Model She didn't need the extra seat and we both iked the interior and exteriior styling of the Z better. She has no need for AWD here in Central Florida.

We love the Z.

The biggest thing I have to think about kids, I have a new one. The coupe can handle a car seat and kids. We have two other vehicles for the kids also, and this one is manly for me at work.
So it is between the coupe and the 4 door. I am set on the infiniti, I am passing on the acura.

I have a new g35x with about 2k on it now. It is awesome. Better performance than an Audi, less $$ then a BMW 330ix with the same options. Its been good in the snow we have had here in NJ. Its great in the rain. The non-"x" model is faster. You can check out g35driver dot com if you would like.
