Default HR 822 - National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011 Passes House 272-154

The bill would allow individuals with valid state-issued concealed firearm permits or licenses to carry a concealed firearm in any other state that also issues concealed firearm permits or licenses, or in any other state that does not generally prohibit the carrying of concealed firearms.

On the surface it sounds good. Not sure it will pass the Senate, or get signed. ;?

Ya gotta admit the state to state reprocity is a lot better now than it was a few years ago but this bill would take a lot of the guess work out of traveling state to state. Call your Senators.

It will never pass the senate. Much more fun to make people into deadly criminals when they cross a state line.

It might not pass in my life time but at least people are starting to understand what REAL legal gun ownership is all about. We have suffered long enough for laws that do shit to fix the problems. Take it off our shoulders and let us prove what we are telling the rest of the country.

Screw the gun runners and the gang bangers to the wall.

Ever notice how we don't hear in the news how murders and violent crimes have gone down in DC since Heller? If it doesn't fit their agenda, it's not fit to print.

As much as I'd like to see it passed it will never pass the Senate, and if it did it stands a snowballs chance in hell of Obummer signing it.

Maybe not this year, but if things go right next November, there's a good chance for the future.

I am suspicious of anything new congress wants to pass.

What will it change?

I am wary.

I bet there is hidden fine print that benefits a special class somewhere.

For FL residents, 11 of the 13 states that do not honor FL CWP would.
For me personally, not much change. It would make more of a difference for AL and GA residents.
What is up with SC? Who pissed them off?

You are so right.

A lot of crimes are prevented just because the crook saw you with a weapon.

When they do they move on and no one was the wiser.

I have wondered that to. My VA CWP isnt honored in most of Yankeeland (no surprise) but I was surprised to find out GA and AL didnt honor it. Last time I checked SC didnt either but I guess something has changed.

At the same time the right-to-carry is going forward in congress, open carry is being killed in California, and Obama is sliding around congress to close all federal lands to shooting. They are saying it is for "safety" of city dwellers that go camping.

I never found much of a reason to carry out of State. That aside...

I guess we are all for State's rights except when we aren't ??
