Default g zone commando

any body have any experience with these phones? i like the look and how its up to military standards against salt fog, water resistance, and all that kind of stuff. Its also powered by android which i also like. ive read some online reviews and heard that its laggy, randomly restarts every three weeks or so, slow browser and bad camera quality. Other reports just complained about battery life, and had nothing else but good things to say about it.

I've had one for several weeks now. It's not quite as fluid as an Iphone or a few of the other android based phones I've played with but is tough and waterproof. It is a little laggy sometimes but I just read about updated 2.3 software and I'm downloading it now. We'll see if that makes it better. If you need a durable/ weatherproof phone this does appear to fit the bill. I would guess some of the other android phones may work a little smoother if you don't need the durability. I'm still not sure if I'd get one again if I didn't need the durability, I'm getting more used to it and tailoring it to my liking via apps/etc. I came from simpler phone (blackberry) so it's taking me a while to figure out how much crap it can do. But I have washed it off in the sink several times already and it's taken a couple good drops onto hard surfaces and no issues. Battery isn't too bad. I leave bluetooth on all the time and usually don't have to charge it except overnight, sometime plug it in on way home from work to get through the evening. It charges fast.

My sister bought one when they first came out. As an active Mom she kept breaking her other phones. Well, she just scrapped it a month ago and got an iPhone 4 with an OtterBox case. The Commando was a nice piece of technology but she said as a phone it was lousy. If you really need the durability then I guess you have to live with the mediocre performance.

Update - I dowloaded Android 2.3.3 last night and early impression is that it does seem to operate smoother. This became available sometime in the last month or so I believe. The phone seems to react quicker now. Maybe just a good day? Or maybe the new software cleaned it up a bit. My wifes Iphone was clearly smoother and quicker before but today my commando was running as good as her's does. I'll chime back in if things change. I'm slowly liking this phone better and better.
