I cannot say what my response would be if I were to witness something like that, but I suspect that Marlin, Big Al, myself and most of the rest of us would all need a good lawyer. I also suspect the prosecutor might conveniently forget to establish jurisdiction during our trial.
No need to clarify, I didn't think the ones making excuses for joe would respond.

After further review, I think my jail time would be short. In FL, I believe that would be considered a good shoot.

And as it has been reported...

"Joe Paterno has reached out to a prominent Washington criminal defense lawyer to represent him in the Penn State sex abuse case, a source close to the case told NBC News.
J. Sedgwick Sollers, who once represented President George H.W. Bush in the Iran-Contra affair, was contacted by Paterno's advisers on Thursday.

He has a TEAM of advisors around him who are telling him to "LAWYER UP" cuz your gonna need it... He didn't know anything??? Yea right...

Had Joe Paterno stood up like a man and blown Sandusky out of the water immediately after being told of the incident he would have forever been a hero. Between his storied career and strength to stand up to anything he would probably have ended up as the most revered individual in college and maybe all of sports history. Had he exposed it, it would of course have been a mess for a while BUT the school and the program would have survived BECAUSE THEY DID THE RIGHT THING.

This is not about worrying about losing your job or a GAME. It's about money and power. Joe Paterno and the others sold their souls for it or at least not to disrupt it.

How many children were "sacrificed" to maintain the system?

How many would have eventually been too many?

1st..Had I witnessed it 1st hand Dusky would have grey matter dripping out his ears goin down the shower drain.. Having said that(this wont be popular) has anybody here ever been apart of a government investigation? I guess Im getting over the knee jerk reaction and kind of thinkin of scenarios...Once Joe goes to the higher ups its out of his hands, theres no more discussion about it.

The DA had knowledge. Im jus finding it hard to believe Joes this big of a scumbag.
And this is a semi-joke but werent the campus "Police" notified?
Im thinkin theres ALOT more to this story

What if it was Joe Pa's grand son... You still think he would have looked the other way?

This POS should be hauled out of Happy Valley in handcuffs as far as I'm concerned. Those students protesting and doing property damage should all be expelled.

AnglerFX must have been on the Casey Anthony jury. He needs a video tape of her smothering the kid before he believes it happened. Thanks A Few Dollars for that good assessment. Thank you Gov Corbett for taking swift action. Do you know how old a 10-yr old boy is?? And old Joe looked the other way.

This entire event speaks volumes about the eroding moral fiber of our nation and misplaced values that is tearing at our foundation. You only need to look at the Penn state kids who went on a destructive rampage on their own school grounds after Paterno was fired! I am sick of the whole affair.

AnglerFX is a loser. Im bummed that he has a fishing boat. Pretty sure that he didn't read the Grand Jury testimony of McLoser. You know, the guy that is an untrustworthy person that JoePed doesn't trust.......oh no - he's his go to coach on the sidelines that he trusts above all else. So Joe hears from someone that becomes one of his most trusted advisors that he witnessed a boy getting raped in the shower and he chooses to have a meeting 10 days later to talk to his boss about it. Joe is a filthy criminal and should spend the last 30 days of his miserable life in a cell.

Joe followed protocol by informing his boss(es). That is not in question.

What is in question is that considering the nature of the CRIME, and the fact that it came from a credible source, he could have and should have done more. He had more real power than anyone at that university; hell, he told them once that they could not make him retire! And they didn't.

It's not like some guy off the street came into his office and made a claim that was wholly unverifiable. He had CREDIBLE information, in that the source of the information was believable. He should have spoken to Mcquery himself, immediately. Then, he should have went to him bosses and said, "we're calling the cops, now, and this shit is not going to stand, if it's true".

This is not a minor error of judgement on Joe-Ped's part. He had to be completely conscious of what his indifference would mean. The shit continued for YEARS afterward. He IS (WAS) Penn State. Do you honestly think he didn't know about Sandusky's behavior, especially after the rape incident?

That's why Joe-Ped is a scumbag. I don't give a flying fuq about how many football games he coached, or how charitable he was. He condoned the rape of a child through his depraved indifference. Pay attention to those two words, because you and Joe Ped will see them again, with a seal from the State of Pennsylvania stamped very near them.

I axed you to bring some beer.

The point, at least mine, is about morality, not legality (though I am not willing to ignore the legal questions).

I find it wholly disinigenous, and more than a little sociopathic, for anyone to agree that if it were their kid they would nuke the planet, but they still think Joe-Ped is being railroaded. That is a ludicrous reality.

I mean who would watch a 10yr old kid get Effed up his azz and go tell your coach?? After you tol your daddy?? A normal person woulda A) Taken large hard object upside Duskys head...B) Called POLICE IMMEDIATELY or quicker...yet hes still on board?? I dont get it

And because of Joe Paterno's DIRECT involvement along with a coverup by his staff and school administrators, this weekend's game should be cancelled. Unless the Govenor's security plan includes the national guard, I fear we are going to see bad things happen at that game between those for/against Joe's firing and the shame brought upon PSU. Why hold a game when by all appearances, you have an open flesh would that needs time to heal. Some innocent person is going to get hurt and it will again be a sad commentary on the school and the decision making that goes on there... If it were an away game that would be another story but it's not...
I truly hope I'm wrong on this...

Did you catch the there, their, and they`re thread?

Big Al,
I think they should erect new statues of the children standing behind Jo Pa with a step ladder so they can make a deposit.

This is just getting started. The Duke lax kids were accused by a stripper.

The only happy valley is where Herman Cain is sleeping tonight.

You, sir, are an insightful man. I hadn't thought of that and I believe you are right on the money. Tens of thousands of young, angry people with polar opposite views on a powder keg issue. What could go wrong?

Yep, not to even mention the s**t talking on the field. A players fight could easily turn into a whole stadium brawl.
