Default Coast Guard Alaska

It's a new show on the Weather Channel right now (9pm). Obviously I've only seen 15 minutes, but so far it seems pretty cool. Gives an inside look at what goes on both at the station in Kodiak and out on missions.

BTT; I just saw this for the 1st time last night. They had an 18' Boston Whaler that finally capsized "28 miles" from land. The guys only had a compass and apparently were heading even further offshore. That hull popped up pretty high for a capsized boat.

Cool show. My new neighbor here in Tampa is actually one of the UH-60 crewmen who run the hoist lines. He was actually in a few episodes, since he just transferred from Kodiak to the Clearwater area back in October.

He said they do alot more medevac stuff down here in Florida vs search and rescue up there.

That one was outside of Sitka, 15 foot whaler. I was working on that search with a civilian search and rescue teams that works closely with the Coast Guard.
