Default I am sorry but this is funny

I just had to laugh when I read this story, I realize it is disrespect for LEO's but you have to admit it makes you laugh a little bit

The police car was at a sign shop to have the police markings installed. Most likely the thieves didn't even know it was a police car.

Never the less...you have to have balls to steal rims and tires anyway.

That's what I was thinking -- how do the four stolen tires get valued at $1600!?!?!

800 for the tires and im guessing they put stockers back on... try pricing out "new" stock rims at ur dealership. i bet its close to 300 per rim.

I know a of a guy that went to jail for trying to steal a light bar on a Patrol car. Cop walked out and busted him with only 1 bolt left ( according to him, and he did go to jail for theft so seems to add up)

Yes, very funny...
I had a Democratic cop telling me one time,
Son, this is America it's only illegal if you're caught...

We were just having a conversation after dinner!!!

He liked Kennedy so much, that he carried Kennedy silver coins to tip the Waiters...

Not the the first time Dorchester Sheriff's have been hit.
Below is an excerpt from our local paper following the main story about the tire theft. I think breaking into an evidence compound is crazy.

"This is the second time in a year that the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office has been victimized by bandits. In December, thieves cut through the fence at the agency's evidence compound and hauled off 225 pounds of copper wiring recovered from previous thefts.
"It just shows nobody is immune," Garrison said. "If they'll take it from us, they'll take it from anybody."

Reminds me of the scene in the movie "American Grafitti" when the characthers tied a chain to the back axle of a sitting patrol car to a tree, then sped by shouting at the LEO's to chase them. Priceless.

police vehicles generally use high performance tires and wheels are also not cheap....the le vehicles we service are equipped with 18" goodyear eagle tires and they dont come cheap...when value is determined it is usually at list price...

First of all, I am in LE and it is still funny. Did not happen at station so it isn't like it happened under their noses. Did take balls on the part of the thief.

As for cost, most LE cars run Eagle GT high speed tires so with 4 tires and rims it could be pretty costly. Not sure it would total $1,600 but.

Lol
some bold thieves stole the tires off a police patrol car in broad daylight
made off with the tires despite the store being in a well-lit, busy area

Cop cars normally have some good rubber on them. I would say $1600 isnt that bad.
