Default A virus may be lurking on THT

A virus has attaked my computer for the very first time and it's not pretty according to the Computer Dr.
OK, I know that spending enough time screwing around the net and it's bound to happen.

Problem is I needed to used my wife's new computer that has very limited use and in fact the only common use is THT and that is a two time use including this one right now and COMCAST overall.

I'm now getting the same warnings that started on my own machine a week ago. My wife's computer is also using the same AV software. ESAT MOD 32.

Just a warning. Something is wrong. Hopefully I didn't loose my hard drive. I stupidly don't back up like a should. That's going to change.

My first guess would be an html enabled email with nefarious intent, and you deleted the email without realizing what it had already done to you.

Are you sure it's not eset nod 32?

You and your wife don't trade emails or get emails from some of the same sources?

Kinda quick to blame THT when you are the only one with the problem dontcha think?

Whie I don't know that there are viruses here, maybe it's just fungus among us.

Quite a few of the links that get posted here could contain viruses...........or worms...........or bots!
My wife is an IT security expert, so I hear about it happening all the time.

You never know what a link will bring you to. When a post has an interesting title but only a link, I usually ignore it unless I recognise the domain, like Yahoo or google, etc... OP may have re-read the same link on both machines.

Maybe co-incidence but received my first ever email from THT this A.M. and it was an advertisement mailing. It did look just like THT logo but as I finished looking at it and was about to hit delete my Malware popped up informing me it had just blocked something...

I use both Malwarebyte and Avast for the last 2 years now and so far so good...
