Default Outlook 2007 problem

All of a sudden, for only 1 of my email accounts synched with Outlook, I am getting "enter network password" pop-up messages. No9, it's not a virus. I know the password is correct and it is unbelievably annoying every 30 seconds. The MS fix didn't work. Anyone have the solution to this problem?

I ran into the same problem several times when I was running Vista with Outlook 2007. The first few times I stripped out Office and reinstalled it. It would work for a while and then start up again. Another time I had mirosoft tech support log in remotely. They spent several hours messing around which fixed it for about a year or so but it came back. Last year I bought the Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade and then also upgraded to Office Professional 2010 and all of the problems have been resolved. Windows 7 has eliminated the majority of the glitches that I was having with Vista.

I get the same issues. Every time my son messes with the email on his computer running Vista the Outlook on my computer (still running XP) starts with the password requests after three or four times it sort of settles down.

I've had this happen in the past and clear up on its own...Now within the last week it has started again. I'm on Windows 7 also.

I don't have it sitting in front of me but go to control panel > mail > profiles > whatever profile > security tab and check to see if the check box for "require authentication" or something like that is checked. Uncheck it. It would cause a similar issue to what you are describing. We used to see that box get checked randomly doing migrations.

I'm not dead sure on the exact path from memory but I am close and you should be able to find it.

I used to have the same problem with Outlook 2007 running with XP.

Now I have a new machine with Windows 7 and Outlook 2010.

No more problem.
