Default Anybody looking for a good TV at a great price?

I went to HH Gregg yesterday to get my son a 32" LCD Coby TV for Christmas for his college apartment. They are on sale for $237.77. At this price I hope it lasts for at least a year (who knows).

Now for the deal. I wasn't planning on buying anything else but looked around. I bought an LG 47LK520 for $547. They are highly rated and go for $700-$1000 online. 1080p / 120hz / more than I need to watch tv.

I'm starting to get out of the stone age. Previously we only had 1 flat panel tv and it is a 19" in the kitchen. Replacing the 500# 32" JVC (old school) with a 50# 47" flat panel.

I remember when I bought the old 36in Sony Trinitron XBR. That SOB weighed a ton. It took 3 men to get it in the house and positioned. Black Friday (can I say that) will offer some very good deals on some excellent TVs.

This is where we need to thank the "1%" for paying the 10K for LCD and plasma TVs 5 or 6 years ago and brought them down to the point where everyone can but one.

The family business I used to be in years ago sold Sony consumer electronics. I delivered many of those back in the day. Our gross profit on 32" and up Sony's was $600 minimum. I just bought a 47" for 1/2 the profit margin we used to get on 50" sets.;? No wonder there are no more mom and pop stores.

I have never heard of a "Coby TV". Is that a store brand?

I just bought a Vizio 37" 1080p 120hz LCD TV at Wal-Mart of all places for $360. I thought that was pretty good.

I have a Zenith plasma in my living room. 60" screen and list on it was 17k when it was new. Who the hell spends 17k on a TV? lol BTW my cost on it was "0" perks of my job.
