It’s been three straight days without school for the Nashoba Regional school district that comprises the towns of Bolton, Stow and Lancaster. The district has used up three of its five snow days as it struggles with continuing power outages, and the winter season has not yet begun.

Damn Global Warming.

This is the dreaded trifecta - maybe quadrafectr perfect storm - global warming - more moisture in air - natural cycle of global heating - and now China is starting coal plant polllution controls which will eliminate the reflective shield currently provided by enormous sulfur dioxide mists and related chemicals. Add to that the longer summers with leaves STILL on the trees in early November. Oh, and yes, deregulation has resulted in cutbacks in tree trimmings near . This past year before the storms CT actually made the Utilities add more in their tree trimming budget and gave them an appropriate rate increase to do it. PLUS - trees adjacent to CL & P transmission lines are falling into their right of ways over the lines. The good news is this pre season natural pruning may be a blessing when we get the added ice and snow storms this winter when it actually gets cold. Thank God it was unseasonably warm all week.
