Yes. yes. ipad2. 16GB is way more than I need. Keeping up with emails on the fly & everything else I usually need a laptop for. No games.

I have the 32gb wifi version. I love it! Don't really use the laptop anymore. About the monthly cost, it depends on what 3G data plan you get.

Gave my wife a 16G/3G last night for her b-day. Bigger version of my iphone which I like. My 9 and 2yo have not put it down yet.

Monthly cost is only if you use 3G. The non-contract month to month plans start at $ 30 with Verizon.

I have the iPad 2 16G, I use it with the wifi off my home PC so there's no extra charge, there's wifi in my marina too, so it's easy to keep up with emails, and all other internet stuff like THT. It's been great, and the 16G has been fine for everything I do.

I bought my wife a 16GB WiFi version a year and a half ago.....best gift I ever bought. It sits on the coffee table. Simple to pick up and check email, google something, etc. There is not boot up time like a laptop, simply turn it on and it is ready to go. Very convenient and simple to use.

Only downside is you need an itunes account which is just one more thing to set up and remember the password for.

I have one and have enjoyed it, but its not really a substitute for a laptop, IMO.

I use it a lot as a kindle to buy and read books.

I have one. It's OK. It's no substitute for a laptop, it doesn't even print. It fun to use to search the web while watching TV, check email, etc. I have used about 8MB of 64MB. If you want a huge music collection, get the big one. For net surfing and email, the small one is fine.

What I really want it then new Asus, Windows 7 tablet but its pricey at $1400 and I think I'll wait for Windows 8, which is optimized for touchscreen use.

Ipad 2 16Gb just WiFi no data plan. Nothing bad to say would recommend it. Lots of places have WiFi now, so can't see any reason for the data plan for me. I would say I use the ipad about 75% and the laptop 25%

You can print to air printers and there are apps to print to network printers.

Still using first version, no problems, use it to connect to work computer, when out of office, and the usual stuff, like browsing, etc...only real complaint no flash player, have wifi and when need will turn on hotspot on my phone for a couple of bucks..much bigger screen and easier to use than a smart phone..IMHO

We have an iPad 2 16GB with the 3G option. The 3G can be added for as little as $10/mo on both ATT and Verizon if you have a shared plan for your phones.

We love ours.....

We have 3 of those iPad2's - all 16GB, and with cloud storage, unless you need a ton of video and/or 6,000 apps, it is more than enough.
The iPad 3 has a better display, but the iPad2 is thinner, lighter and the battery lasts longer - otherwise they are the same except the 3 costs $100 more.
I prefer my Nexus 7 to the iPads, but my use is primarilly business related.

Nice thing about the Ipad is sitting back in the recliner and browsing.
