Default Picked up my Kahr MK9 Elite Tonight

I was looking at the Kimber Solo but they apparently have had some issues, with the gun and delivery, so I decided to move on.
I don't feel like I settled on the Kahr, this thing is sweet. Tore it down and wiped off the excess oil, will hit the range tomorrow.

I wasn't able to handle one before I bought it, I wasn't disappointed.

Great guns.

I just got a CM9 that's 1/2 a pound lighter and $400 cheaper than yours.

My wife won't be on the Kahr website. Shhhh.

As far as the weight goes, I like it. Feels very well balanced.

I love that gun! Super compact and well built. I do prefer the PM9 though, for a carry gun lighter = better. As a shooter, I'd prefer the MK9.

I expect Kahr still recommends breaking in the handgun with 200 rounds. My P9 had a couple stoppages in the first 200 rounds, none since. Really like my Kahr- you should like yours!

My gunsmith says to run 500 rounds thru the Kahr then bring it back to them for full inspection and maybe some work....

Granted thats probably a bit over the top - but I expect my CCW to be flawless.... Would hate to jam up in a stress situation...

What is the other gun with the Pachmayr grip on it, an XD? It has a Glock like frame but looks too thick at the back to be a Glock.. Congrads on the Kahr..

Actually not that different than what I did with the P9. Ran 200 rounds of S&B FMJ ammo for break-in. Then 200 rounds of Federal 9BPLE, to proof my carry load. It was flawless with the carry load. So, my "break-in" was really 400 rounds. I have 2400 rounds of asst. ammo through the P9 so far, changed recoil spring at 2000. Only stoppage after break-in was an S&B squib load.

I found a very specific set of instructions for lubricating the Kahrs. If you don't have it, I can provide a copy.

That other handgun in your photos looks like a polymer frame Kahr.

Love my CW9. Just remember to always slingshot the 1st round into the chamber on a Kahr.

They do. I have 200 rounds of FMJ in the truck for this afternoon. Kind of doubt I'll get through it all in one session but we'll see how it goes.

That's the baby brother, P380.

I'd like to see that. There are no detailed instructions in the manual.

If it performs as well as my P380, I'll be a happy camper. I have probably 400 rounds through it. The only failures I've had with it were with one 7 round extended mag I got last week. I bought two and took them to the range to test. Shot about 40 rounds through each, one was fine the other had 4 FTF. Couldn't see anything worng with it so it went back to Kahr. Waiting on a replacement. I'll test them some more before I carry them. Other than that it has been flawless since shot one.

Isnt it the other way around - dont slingshot due to jamming of first round?

Not sure....

No, he's right. Insert the mag, pull the slide back to 'lock', hit the slide release.

What they say not to do is pull the slide back and let it go. It should lock.

Yep- that's a deficiency in Kahr manuals. This link has the lubrication instructions.
http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum/...l-diagram.html

And- definitely slingshot the first round into the chamber!!

Funny, after you posted that I hit google and found that diagram and printed a copy.

Thanks.

Saying that Kahr doesn't have detailed instructions was a major understatement:

"Once cleaned, all part should be lightly lubricated with a commercial gun lubricant."

Made some ragged holes after work last night.

Surprisingly, I did shoot all 200 rounds I brought with me (WWB FMJ), really didn't think I would.
It's is very comfortable to shoot, the only thing that got tired was my thumb from loading the mags.
Recoil and muzzle flip was about what I expected with the weight, not much.

2 FTE's out of the 200. First was the last round in the first mag, the second was in the first box too or early in the second box.
Smooth after that. Will continue the break-in with the same ammo and then some HP's.

Reeeaaallly like this gun. Need to find a holster now.
