what a bunch of crap. New Hanover County was NOT hit hard by the storm. Heck the Progress guys were out at 7:30 am fixing lines on my block. Yet ,Thousands wait in line for free money and all you had to do was show up. this country sucks right about now. I work my ass off and got my stuff prepared yet these slugs get $370 bucks(average). Look at the pictures and read the article , steaks and seafood lost? damn , why didnt that guy get a generator and save his own crap. Liberals suck. send it to the bilge, I dont care.

Residents who receive food stamps automatically got a replacement for a portion of their August allotment.

Probably easier than running them through the bureaucracy of actually claiming a loss.

sickening. I would have lost the steak and chicken, but I did this thing, I COOKED IT ON THE GRILL.

Forget the fact that I have a generator (260 dollars) that could have run the fridge, but we were having fun the first couple days eating all the perishable foods

Complete crap. This country is hopeless. After 911 South Florida scammers got economic aid:

Florida cashed in on 9/11 disaster loans

September 10, 2011|By Sally Kestin and John Maines, Sun Sentinel

An ice cream shop in Miami Beach, more than 1,200 miles from the attacks on the World Trade Center, received a 9/11 disaster loan from the federal government.
So did a discount furniture store in Fort Lauderdale, a boat dealer in Dania Beach and a beauty supply company in Boca Raton.
In all, Florida businesses received $140 million in low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration following the terrorist attacks a decade ago. That put Florida second only to New York, where the SBA handed out $533 million, federal records show.

You can bet that the same folks that line up for this freebie will also file a FEMA claim for a new a/c, refridg., etc. They did after the last cane that did zero damage to where they live, but they will rec. $$$$ from FEMA.

I stopeed and gave a stack of dollar coins to one of the homeless guys at the street corner today. I was thinking ... "what great value ... because if I were to give this same money to my government for them to give to the homeless, the PHD running the program would get 5 of the 7 dollars, another $1.80 would go for facilities and expenses and the homeless guy would end up getting 20 cents."

I chuckled over one of the recent proposals by the liberals. A new law that will allow the trial lawyers to sue when an employer considers "long term unemployment a negative when deciding whether to hire".

Just another example of our government removing every obstacle they can so that people will sit on their but and take handouts from the government.

In Maine, food stamps are delivered via a credit card "so there is no shame in using them". Same thing.

My local town (Bethesda, MD) is building a homeless shelter. The cost, $330,000 per bed!!!!! I'd get them a $20 ticket on the railroad to the middle of nowhere and provide dorm room style sleeping. $10 per night per bed. Not because I'm mean ... but because people should be encouraged to participate in the world. Not sit around.

What a mess.
