Default Dash camera, Tsunami Video found,

And you thought you had problems.
Count you blessings.

Another video of the Japanese tsunami, from the inside.

Yu Muroga was doing his job making deliveries when the 11 March 2011
earthquake hit in Japan . Unaware, like many people in the area, of how far
inland the Tsunami would travel, he continued to drive and do his job. The
HD camera mounted on his dashboard captured not only the earthquake, but
also the moment he and several other drivers were suddenly engulfed in the
Tsunami. He escaped from the vehicle seconds before it was crushed by other
debris and sunk underwater. His car and the camera have only recently been
recovered by the police. The camera was heavily damaged but a video expert
was able to retrieve this footage.

I meant what was he doing? Dressed in black, standing under that tree acting weird. I guess I would be too during an earthquake, just seems odd.

I was amazed at how fast the cars were coming down the cross steet! Looked like they were moving 70 mph. Also was amazed the windsheild wipers were working all the way through the video. Awesome power and awesome video! Thanks for posting!

Could be multiple reasons to have been in black I guess.

He was bracing himself, spreading his feet and lowering his center of gravity so he wouldn't fall. I did pretty much the same thing during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and it wasn't nearly as strong at 6.9 -- but still it was difficult to stand. The mask is for allergies -- it was tree pollen time when the Sendai quake hit.

This video has been circulating for a while now, I first saw this several months ago. There is some question as to the voiceover though. When the video first surfaced, it was told that the voice in the video was the guy driving. That has since been dismissed for several reasons.... which I cannot recall right at this moment. I think one of them was that the voice is so very monotone, if the voice was indeed that of the real driver at that very moment, his voice would have sounded at least somewhat concerned.

Also, I had heard that the guy did not make it, he was able to climb out of the car but was pulled under by debree quickly thereafter. Who's knows for sure.

I guess it is almost impossible to survive a tsunami if you get caught up in the water at any depth. There is so much debris floating and under the surface that most folks are killed by crush, not drowning. People that recover the bodies say those killed by tsunami are totally mangled, often impelled, missing limbs ...

Awesome video! It's amazing how fast the water came in. In the beginning, before he makes the left turn, it almost looks like he could have gone straight and avoided the whole thing. Could have just been a dead end or something though too, don't really know? The debris is scary, couldn't even swim through any of that. I think I would go for a tree.
