He was no little boy himself..... But I can say, I would have done the same thing for my dog and I am deathly afraid of bears. My phobia.

Heck Alaskan woman do the same thing save the dog too.

Actually they're both crazy or don't think at the spur of the moment. Not sure what I'd do but I don't think it would be running towards the bear.
