Default Announcing Catfishing With Keith 2012!

Fellow THT'ers. The dates for the annual "Catfishing with Keith" for 2012 have been set! The dates are May 30th - June 4th 2012.

What is "Catfishing With Keith"?
It is an annual fishing / boating trip where people come in from all over the US and Canada to just be MEN. Fish, fun, cook, and bound with fellow men who share the common interest of good fishing, love of boating and good food.

Cost
The cost starts at $300 for the 5 nights and covers:
  • Bed
  • Food
  • Beer

I know..... cheap!

My website has TONS of information about the trip (seriously tons).

Here's the link that covers everything:

http://keithelder.net/catfishing-with-keith/

I hope you will seriously consider joining us it is a great time (especially at party cove when we aren't fishing).

NOTE: This is a *man trip*. That means leave the girlfriend / wife at home and bring your friends instead.

If there are any questions that aren't covered, just ask, I'll be happy to answer them.

I am listening.........

Are we noodling, fishing, or just drinking? Or are we noodling, fishing and drinking all at once? What is the destination and accommodations? Do we need to bring a boat?

I've been doing a trip like this to Eagle Lake, Ms. for the last 17 years. This years trip got knocked out by the flood. The trip has grown since I took a co-worker fishing there and then another one joined us and now there's usually between 25 and 30 make it every year. Good times with good people. Sounds like ya'll do it right too.

Good questions but they should all be answered in the link in my signature. Password is *catfish*.

The short of it is there is no noodling, at least none of us do it.

So it is fishing/drinking all at once.

Destination is Lake Pickwick on Tennessee River (again, all info is in the link).

Do you need to bring a boat? If you have one to bring, bring it and your buddies. Otherwise, you can join some of the crews that rent and help split the cost with them.

That's pretty much how this got started too boomer.

You guys should join us, Pickwick is MUCH larger than Eagle Lake, lots more to do, bigger water and the water fall is just awesome if you have never been.

Oh it aint' that bad. Only about 5.5 hours. BUT we stay a lot longer. Leave Wed and arrive after lunch-ish, do the crawfish boil on Wednesday eve, then fish /Th/Fr/Sat/Sun and drive back on Monday (so stores are open in case we need to buy hubs, wheels, tires, whatever to get back home ).

It is further than Venice but guys come in from all over the US and even Canada (yes our neighbors to the North).

There is even a crew that drives down from Michigan in an RV. To drive that far... you know it MUST be good.

Hey Keith, I'm from Laurel. Sounds like you guys have a really great time!
My great great great grandfather was also at Shiloh in April of 1862. I've been to the battlefield, interesting that the Tennessee flows north in that area. I may be able to get a crew together and bring my boat.

Happy to have you. There is normally 2 crews from H'Burg that go up on Wednesday, you could meet up with them and convoy up (I'll already be up there).

As soon as you know you are going, let me know!

@BaySlayer

How is your crew looking?

Spots are filling up.

Also, I've re-organized all the information on my web site. Easier to digest now.

I've only mentioned it to a couple of people, I'll see if I can nail a few down. Sounds like a real fun getaway. I've only got one person wanting to go to Delacroix this week, with a hot trout bite going on. Everybody seems to be too broke or too busy.
