Default I love the internet - People Whining about no power...on a local news website..

Due to this storm, one of our local news channels has been using their facebook fan page to communicate. I cannot believe how NEEDY people are and how they just LOVE to blame others for their inadequacies. Here's a few examples of things that make me say "really?!?!"

This guy or girl wants to blame the fact that his/her niece cannot walk down a flight of stairs (I do it in the dark everyday)

I do love Jesseka's response lol.

I was VERY tempted to reply to this one : "Did the power company get you pregnant? If they did I agree they should pay half for your sitter.."

bitch bitch bitch, moan moan moan...

All I see here is a bunch of people who don't have their priorities straight.

For the price of their fancy smart phone + a few months of their fancy data plans, they could have bought themselves a cheap generator (I did). They also could have planned ahead and ate food that would go bad and bought non perishable foods. You can actually live just fine for WEEKS without power.

Well what about showers?

this works great on a nice sunny day.

People have lost their ability to fend for themselves, I bet all of these people will be the first ones to go when the zombies show up.

I'll give ya another dumb story. Had an ice storm here a few years back and it knocked out power for a few days. We had people filing food spoilage claims when the temps were consistently in the 20's and low 30's. Hey morons, put the food in a cooler and put it on the deck!

You can't fix stupid.

Yeh well, it's the nature of the beast....it always gets worse before it gets better.
Stress over what you can change, not what you can not.

The internet has just become a place for ignorant people to bitch in public about everything in their lives just so they can find other ignorant people to agree and make them feel better.

I'd like to ask if this "thajeffski" guy ever posts anything positive? For a new guy, you sure piss all over the place like a skunk.

If you're that miserable on here... I'm glad you are not near my dock or life.

Things could be worse than having the power and cable off. Homestead and Cutler Ridge looked like the 101st Airborne had just gone to war there.

Hurricane Andrew, Florida

Photograph by Joel Sartore, National Geographic
Parts of Homestead, Florida, lie in ruins after Hurricane Andrew tore through the area with Category 5 winds in August 1992. Now second to Katrina, Andrew was the most destructive U.S. hurricane on record, inflicting $26.5 billion in damage. Its winds topped 164 miles per hour (264 kilometers per hour), easily passing the Category 5 threshold of sustained winds greater than 155 miles per hour (249 kilometers per hour).

Booker, you would know, New Orleans. All it took was one, and after that I'm prepared with AC, cold beer, food, TV and a charged cell phone. Hurricanes stink, big or small.
