Default cell phone plans

I have been with ATT for what seems likfe forever. However I am sick and tired of unreliable service. I pay an average of 250-260 per month with Iphone. I email alot and text very little compared to kids but still text. Anyone have any better suggestions? Verizon, sprint?
I also do not like using Itunes either.

My job has me traveling the country. I am on Verizion and get good coverage pretty much everywhere I go.

NOW... in very rural areas, it can be a coin flip between ATT and Verizion. I know this simply because my fishing buddy had ATT. Some places we would go, i would be able to talk and he wouldn't even have a signal and vice versa.

I can say this about sprint, I had one of those internet cards and had lightning speeds just about everywhere I went.

A guy here at work has ATT and has poor signal at home. He got one of those ATT boosters for his home (I don't know the actual name) and has excellent service at his home now.

Hope this helps some.

I think a lot depends on where you are located. In my area, NJ, Verizon has the best repuation. I've been with them for the past 15+ years.

Having said that, I have never had a dropped call until recently. Since switching to a "smart phone" - Samsung fascinate droid - I probably drop 1 call a week. I don't know if I am imagining things, but I am convinced that the smart phones do so much that they almost consider voice calls a secondary feature.

I also notice that if I place my hand toward the bottom of the phone, the signal gets worse. I am assuming that this is where the antenna is located.

Verizon has the best coverage of all the carriers. I have been down this road with many people. Everyone who switched to Verizon has been much happier.

At that price, I hope your talking about multiple phones?

I have Five phones, 1 Mifi on Verizon. Of those, One Droid (full Data) One Iphone (full Data), The Mifi is unlimited (grandfathered in), One phone is on some kinda partial data plan that costs $15.00.

I have a Freinds and Family Buisiness 1400 Shared Minutes, unlimited Txts, Free Caller to Caller and a bunch of other stuff that would make me sound like a salesman.

I pay $269 a month including taxes and surcharges so the lazy bastards of the world can have free cell phones (sorry for the off topic rant there).

I too travel, but mainly the east coast. As mentioned above, service is good, but rural areas are a crap shoot as to who is best.

I have Verizon and just got the iPhone 4. I travel a lot as well and my teammates with ATT always have problems. I have noticed a dropped call or two, more than before. I am not sure if this is due to the iPhone or not. The 3G service on Verizon is good. I got in just before they stopped the unlimited data rates so I stream music and netflix a lot. I just ordered an iPhone for my wife since I have been very pleased with mine.

I was with AT&T from 1998 right up and until last month. (Bellsouth, Cingluar, then AT&T) So about 6 months ago I switched to Uverse and their internet. Talk about being sold on a big bait and switch! They told me the Uverse would be 55 a month for 6 months, 25 bucks a month for internet, and the normal 85 for my iphone bill. Then I would save $15 a month for combined billing. Ha! I got my bill and it was 250 a month. Never saw the combined billing discount. Turns out in my area there's no such thing as $25 a month internet And they were billing me 90 or 100 bucks a month on the cable bill

Now I travel internationally like permanently and up until a couple of years ago (before skype, rebtel, textnow etc, all iphone communication apps) I was running up 2k and 3k a month phone bills. So needless to say I dropped some serious loot with those guys. Nowadays you wait on hold for literally an hour and they won't unlock my iphone. I could go on for hours.

Anyway I switched to Tmobile. They answered they phone within 1 minute, and they have an interesting international plan. We'll see how they work out. If AT&T aquires them it'll be time to switch again.

I think these phone companies international plans are about to get dirt cheap in the next couple of years as they are realizing people are just using skype, rebtel etc. on smartphones.

$250/mo is absurd for one phone

I pay Sprint $120/mo (including tax and BS govt fees) for unlimited email, text, data and cellular time on my Android. Way better service than ATT too.

I've been with Verizon for a while now. Our monthly bill is something like $250 per month. That's for two smart phones with data plans and three phones without data plans. I can't remember how many minutes and texting we have, but we have never come close to exceeding it. Coverage has never been an issue with verizon.
