i think i had paid for an additional carfax report several months ago

try this:

1. Go to the CARFAX login page
2. Enter your Account Email and Password
Enter a 17 digit VIN for a Vehicle History Report

Confirmation#: CPP20100909131804

Approval Code: 420185

Hi Chris, It won't let me log in with out providing a credit card. Or I'm doing something wrong.

Slightly off topic, sorry but I'll recommend your son stay away from used Audis.....sorry and I know it's impossible to talk sense to them sometimes.

From Consumer Reports' section of the "worst of the worst" used cars:
Audi
A3 '06, '08; A4 (4-cyl.) '03-05; A4 '02; A6 (2.7T) '04; A6 (3.0T) '10; A6 (V6) '01-03, '08; A6 Allroad '01, '04; A8 '04; Q5 '09; Q7 '07-08; TT '08

Any luck steering him toward Acura, Honda, Lexus, Toyota?

Good luck regardless,

John

If you like hanging around with Audi techs get one. Or you could hit bottom and go for a Land Rover.

"go for a Land Rover". Funny. Really rock bottom.

How old is your son?

I read that even with a Car Fax report, it's still buyer beware. It is not a tell all.

He's 21 and yes the report is just one of many tools you need these days to check out anything you purchase.
