Default car insurance quotes

I have been pounding sand trying to help my 19 yr old son in massachusetts getting more affordable car insurance..

he is 19, safe driving record, no tickets (that i know of) license for over a yr and half,
owns paid for 98 grand cherokee ..

only wants liability..no collision or comprehensive.. 500 deductible ..

he has that now with progressive and is paying 200 a month..thought that was high so im doing some shopping for him..

any help would be appreciated..

opinions are welcome too

thanx

Erie has always been the most reasonable cost for us. Also have him increase his deductable to 1000, that will help reduce his premium.

Unfortunately, sorry but I cannot help...been there and bought the t-shirt I truly feel you pain. Rates for young adults do not significantly improve until they are 25 (and hopefully on their own).

These 2 sites may help though: http://www.COMPAREusINSURANCE.com and http://www.COMPAREeQUOTES.com.

I didn't think you could have a deductible if you didn't have comp or collision.

I have 21st Century and have never found any car insurance any cheaper.

Their service WAS great until Farmer's bought them out recently, but then I guess you get what you pay for. I'm going through a rear end claim with the other driver who has Mercury Insurance. They will be paying for the damages which are really insignificant when it comes to a rear ender. I didn't like their lack of response on the phone and not responding to my calls in a timely manner.

So, I went shopping online this past week for car insurance as my existing policy is up for renewal in July. I couldn't come up with a lower cost (full coverage) policy than 21st Century so I guess I'll be relying on their minimal help policy.

Shag- I believe Mass has a medical/PIP deductible option.

Semper Fi-sh - Go online and try some sites like NetQuote and those listed above. I would also call one or two independent agents and see what they can do. You will probably be able to find something better but it will take a little work.

I tried some companies, but the bottom line the best deal by at least $200 went to AAA. Now I'm a old fart, but my car insurance increases with age, I have been told, so it might be worth a look for the young driver.

Plymouth Rock Assurance is usually best for kids. Find an local agent who represents them, message me if you have any issues.

I have an 18 y/o son, and will agree that insuring kids is damn expensive. We're on our way to our third company in as many years. We started with Progressive. After 2 consecutive rate increases ($800 per year more) with no claims, we went on to Allstate. We've been with Allstate for 6 months, and again with no claims, they're increasing us $400 every 6 mo. So we're moving on to Star & Shield and saving $600 per 6 mo.
I swear companies give you a low rate to lure your business, then keep tacking on higher rates and blame it on "the cost of doing business in your state".
