yes yes yes they are, complete and utter disregard for the health and well being of the planet and its inhabitants, all of them...

we must learn, and it is our only hope, to function according to natures laws, not the laws of capitalism/consumerism

What is natures law? I thought it was survival of the fitest?
Do you really believe that or are you just one of the koolaid drinker that lives a good life under the blanket of capitolism buts HATES to admit it or is to stupid to really understand it. Whatever the case put up or shut up. Throw away your computer, stop driving your car, walk around in a loin cloth, sell me your boat, etc,etc...

Capitolism is what made this country great. If you feel so strong about natures laws then start by example. Go live in a tree and eat roots (if it doesn't break natures law).

Damn--horse hair underware is a bitch. I second the motion for your boat. Any other capitalist goodies you want to part with?

Bio-dictators and Gene Manipulators useing biotechnology to genetically engineer our food and not label it - no traceability, how smart!

I picked that little gem up in Google.

This could be an interesting thread. I am a capitalist--but, I eat organic/natural food only. Not because I am "green" but because unprocessed food is better for your health.

I don't know if what is being said about Monsanto is true. Enlighten me with facts.

I have no idea who or what Monsato is but i do know a little about capitolism. Are there companies that do bad things in the world, sure there are. Does stiffling capitolism make that any better, don't think so.

If this Monsato is a problem state the facts and let public opinion decide. Don't turn it into a BS rant on capitolism and mother earth.

Do a search on Monsanto's lawsuits against small farmers for "stealing" their gmo seed stock.
Why are they forcing this franken seed on all of us?
I think I should be given the choice as to whether I want to eat gmo foods. Why must they be so deceptive?
I am no tree hugger liberal, but Monsanto is a shit company.

Monsanto is trying to patent our food supply. Then they will own it. You will have to pay a licensing fee to grow anything from a seed or risk prosecution.

In a nutshell

Can you direct me to a source that is not hysterical? I can't get past all the hysteria to find any facts. Or the hysteria makes the facts dubious.

you guys dont want my boat, it has those big floppy white things, (sails)... only two rod holders and no livewell/outriggers... no engine either...

to those questioning me, i assuming you do not know, and do not care on bit about where/how 99% of the food you eat comes from...

you have no problem eating cattle raised on corn? your problem not mine, cows are ruminants, grass/foliage is their natural diet, not corn, when they eat corn/soy they get sick and fat and have to be pumped with antibiotics to be kept alive/healthy, let them eat grass and they dont get sick and are better for you... why no one gives a shit is beyond me?

i do what i can voting with my wallet...
i have not had fast food/ soda in 5 years, never will again as long as live, no candy, chips, processed foods etc. lots of fruits and veggies and nuts, lentils, beans, rice... occasional fish, very occasional meat, if the quality is not dubious

ignorance surely is bliss becuase the factory farming industry should not and would not exist if anyone besides me a few others gave a shit

good read:
http://journeytoforever.org/farm_lib.../pricetoc.html

also look at "the future of food" a documentary done by jerry garcias widow...

^^^^^The problem I have is that I eat organic as I stated above. As a consequence I shop at groceries that carry organic food. I see mostly far left leaning liberals with their leftist "green" agenda propaganda in these groceries. They really don't care about organic food or their health. They care about their "green" communist agenda.. So, when I see things that come from those types of sources I have my doubts as to the veracity.

So--point me to a source that does not have a blatant leftist agenda.

80% of the organic stuff i eat is stuff i either grow or forage (mangoes, avacadoes, bananas), as most organic produces in stores is a bit above my pay grade...

the bulk isle at whole foods is a godsend, organic beans and grains, reasonably priced, that stuff goes a long way...

the primary reason i fish/spearfish is because i like to know (and care about) where my food comes from... made a bone stack last night with rainbow runner and mangrove snapper carcasses - the base for a delicious and nutritious fish stew...

do not discount the wisdom of the ancients, read this book:
http://journeytoforever.org/farm_lib.../pricetoc.html
written in the 1920's - no leftist bias...
